Venture Lieutenant requirements

Pathfinder Society

5/5 * Venture-Lieutenant, Spain—Madrid

Hello

What are the requirements of a venture Lieutenant?

I Know venture captain requirements, and Lieutenant ones can´t be the same.

So, please, anyone could tell me exactly what are?

Thanks in advance

Venture Lieutenants are appointed by Venture-Captains to fill whatever role needs to be filled. This means that Venture-Lieutenants don't have a specific and defined role; each Venture-Captain decides on their own what the criteria to be a Venture-Lieutenant should be.

The structure is designed so that you do not apply directly to Paizo to be a Venture-Lieutenant. If you are interested in that position and you feel that your local community has a need of one, you should contact your local Venture-Captain. If you don't have a local Venture-Captain, consider applying for that position.

Chris, I thought we agreed to keep that part of the initiation quiet. Now everyone will know about my dulcet tones and golden pipes.

Being willing to drink the 'bug juice' is probably a plus, too, though not everyone partakes.

All VLs (VCs too) need to have a Thick Skin to be able to handle the abuse that I throw at them.

I think that the requirements of being a VL are already being met by anyone who is considered for the role.

Over here in the UK I can think of a couple of people who would make good VL's and frankly they are already sort of doing that job anyway, organising conventions, running games, supporting the VC's that sort of thing.

Before Rob Silk became a VC for example he was the one who kicked off Paizocon UK with Dave Harrison, ran a tonne of games and basically was acting as a joint VC in all but actual title. It came as no surprise to me when he was given the title of VC and he totally deserved it.

What it comes down to is that people become VL's not because that was their goal but rather their goal was to help run PFS and in the process their dedication was recognised and they became VL's.

FallofCamelot has it largely correctly in many cases. Many VLs have earned their titles by doing things for PFS, rather than being given their titles and then doing things to keep it.

There's no reason to boost NA when the main attacker has a really low Attack modifier. ;)

Yup, largely if you show a propensity to consistently GM, help organized game days (even to the point of maybe creating a new game day in your area--maybe at a new venue--that didn't exist before) and generally being a great help at conventions and such in your local area, your V-C may decide he wants your help more officially.

I usually just laugh at his 1 point of non-lethal damage.

There is still an application process, it's just through the VC. The VC then submits for Paizo/PFS's final approval.

So why has Dan never made me VL, Hmmm?

VLs must also always agree with their VC, no matter what.

In order to be a VL you must also be a member of the shadow lo.....er Venture Lieutenant's for a Better Tomorrow organization. We have bug juice, it is very tasty!

A sense of humor, a mentor mentality, and the willingness to be, and admit, wrong.

...that and total loyalty to your commanding overlord, however neutral he might be.

Azmyth met me at Dundracon in the parking lot, pledged me to unflinching loyalty, and armed me with a giant dagger. He then said, "Ok, let's go in there and kill some players!" and slapped me on the shoulder.

Sad to say, but I flinched.

I frantically croaked out, "Um, you mean characters.... Right? Right?"

Az gave me a wide smile, winked and said, "Sure...."

Plotting the demise of your current VL is also a good start.
