Hello:
Long time gammer....
To those who play wizards:
Do you have a hard time comming up with the money and time for all your spells? I'm playing skull and shackles, 6th level, and its difficult for me to come up with the money i need for my spell book. (inks and scrolls)
Never mind making more gear.
Just looking for some advice.

Wizards get two free spells per level, which is a good start. And yes, You could pour fortunes into learning spells that you'll never use.
Basically, wizardry is expensive. You have to prioritize.
1) Must have - Spells you'll use every day to great effect. Actively use resources to obtain.
2) Nice to have - Useful spells that you'll use occasionally. Only use resources to obtain if you have money to spare and nothing better to buy.
3) Can do without - Situational spells that you can probably just figure some work around. EIther find them in/as treasure or don't bother. Lowest priority.

are you keeping up with wealth by level? Because if you are getting stnadard rewards untill mid levels there isnt a whole lot you can spend your money on besides spells and scrolls and spellbooks to copy out of. If you are getting expected rewards you should have more then enough money to do so. Not certain about skull and shackles though, how is it on treasure?

DM is very good.
Group is fine, no drama.
I think as a party whole, we may be below WBL.
My character may be slightly above WBL.
I have hedge magician fear, and have been making scrolls while we are on the high sees. Makes about 200 gp/week at best.
I have been tracking day by day.
Also have a ring of sustinenace, and have been crafting like crazy during the night.
just seems that cost to scribe get so expensive compared to money we have.
Just wondering how carefull people play wizards with the costs of spellbooks.

I'm with Tiny on this one. People take the whole Batman thing way too far a lot of the time. It's cool to think of your wizard as always having the right tool on hand, but practically speaking you are part of a team with lots of options for overcoming challenges; you don't always have to have the solution yourself. Just prioritize so you get the spells you will actually prepare every day. It will likely not be a very long list at all.
Different groups and campaigns differ, obviously, but it might help if you posted your spell book as it currently exists, to give us some frame of reference.

The cost to learn every wizard spell in the Core rulebook is only 52,405gp (actually ~7,000gp less, since your class gives you several dozen spells for free) plus another 12,500gp to craft a pair of blessed books to hold them all.
At high levels (13+) it's cheap enough that there's just no reason not to know all the core spells you are capable of casting.

The Blessed Books basically pay for themselves in the long run.
I usually take Craft Wondrous Item in order to make the Books and to save money on "normal" Wizard items that I can pump into my spellbook.
Remember, the BSF has to dump money in weapons (probably multiple) and armor. You don't. CWI covers 90% of your static magic item investment. The only reason you should have trouble with money and learning spells/scribing scrolls is campaign-related.
If it's a low magic campaign, you won't see as many free scrolls and spellbooks. If it's low-wealth, then you have less money, period. If you have both, then it can get tight.
Ask your DM about finding local spellcasters you can trade spells with. Even if he insists on giving you unfavorable trades, you got more spells for only the cost to scribe, rather than the price to buy a scroll.

Even scribing dozens of spells into my spellbook isn't too hard for me in my average-wpl game. You're not buying a scroll for each spell, right? It should only be 1.5x the costs written here per spell, which really isn't very much.
