Humans being 9 pretty much confirms that you cannot properly put a number to each ability/power to each specific race in the game. (i.e. the RP system is borked)
I'm not complaining however because back in 2nd edition everyone played Elves to death...
In 3rd Edition/3.5/ or Pathfinder especially it seems Humans shine once again

Well, I think that was part of the intention. Bonus feats are GOOD. Bonus feats that you get to choose any feat without restriction are GREAT. Most of the non-human races get a lot more abilities that are useful in specific situations. Humans don't care about specific situations, their abilities are always good and always useful. It's far better than older editions, where the only reason to play a human was so that you didn't get completely screwed when level limits started to show up - a rule that never added ANYTHING to the fun of the game.
The bonus feat also encourages human PCs, because most game worlds are human-centric.
I think there's room to quibble about some of the point values on the RP system - I can easily see the human bonus feat being 5 or 6 RP instead of 4, putting humans right on level with the other races, and I notice that gnomes pay 2 RP for the near-useless "+2 to one Craft or Profession skill", without a discount for those being mostly flavor skills.
