The pathfinder society requires people with exceptional abilities and a desire to push the boundaries of acceptable society. It should be no surprise then if even the offshoots of Mengkare's grand experiment sometimes find a new home in the societies august ranks.
Do any other pathfinders hail from Hermea? Did you leave or were you kicked out and why? How did you become a pathfinder? How are you adjusting to life in the outside world? What do you think of the rumors of charred ships washing up on shore? How do we feel looking back at our former home and most importantly, what do we do now?

I come from Hermea but after years of selling guns and other weapons to a local underground gang I was captured by the city guard and was exiled for life. I decided to go to Sandpoint where I could live a simple life but upon approaching the gates several city guards chased me off with spears. Then I heard of these pathfinders and that I could start a new life without worry that my past life would ruin my chances of a new life. So I became a pathfinder and joined the Grand Lodge. It has taken many years to adjust to the life in the outside world. As for those ships I do not have an opinion. I feel much pain looking back at my old home. Born, raised, and trained within the walls of Hermea. Looking forward I say we stick together as brothers and sisters of Hermean blood and do all that the society calls us to do with all of our might.

My biggest question is - now that you're free, do you get to live for yourself, or are you all just still waiting for a enormous dragon to tell you what to do with yourselves?
I mean no disrespect, but what's the point in being ridiculously good looking, holding the highest test scores and breaking athletic records if you need some pervert dragon to sign off whenever you want to bed someone for the night?
I'll stick to being a runtish off-shoot with a notoriously woeful family tree, if it means I get to control my own destiny. *krehh*

Well I wouldn't say that I was free, I mean I am free now its just that i wouldn't say that i wasn't free then. I mean I could have left any time i wanted, I'm just not allowed back.
And Conan's the only giant lizard who orders me around. *pat pats his Velociraptor on the head* "Mengekare's's not a pervert. He's just trying to make people better. Down in the puddles I see a lot of conditions that could have been avoided if someone was keeping track, not to mention all the problems that come from people having more children than they can afford.
As to being ridiculously good looking and breaking athletic records... well I didn't quite turn out that way" he surreptitiously rubs his large nose. "My brothers and sisters did though. Probably didn't help me much in my testing..."

So... apologies for continuing this intrusive line of questioning, but what would happen if Mengkare demanded that you return? I mean, you're Pathfinders! Assuming you stay alive long enough *kreek* you'll be rich and learn magical secrets many can only dream of - surely Mengkare would learn of this from up on his cloudy perch.
He'd probably want you to drop everything and go home to guard some acreage of Hermean farmland or something. BORING!
Would you go back home, or would you disobey his orders?

So... apologies for continuing this intrusive line of questioning,
Oh no, go right ahead. I understand needing to be direct sometimes, believe me.
but what would happen if Mengkare demanded that you return?
Like... to visit or for good? I'd Jump at the chance to see the family again, but to stay? That's a tough one.
I'd have to politely tell him.. actually I'd get some help to have someone write a letter to politely tell him, that I'm NEEDED out here. The outside world is crazy. Every other church is taken over by a demon or some strange cult, Folks in the puddles are dying from it being too damp of all things, some very bad people are trying to get their hands on some very powerful artifacts, and necromancers are raising armies of the undead. As much as I sometimes wish I'd never left the island, someone has to stop them, we can so we do. Hermea can't just keep all its greatness to itself.
I mean, you're Pathfinders! Assuming you stay alive long enough *kreek* you'll be rich and learn magical secrets many can only dream of - surely Mengkare would learn of this from up on his cloudy perch.
Doyle pauses for a moment in horror
You know publishing a series of books on Conans exploits doesn't seem like such a good idea anymore...
He'd probably want you to drop everything and go home to guard some acreage of Hermean farmland or something. BORING!
I could do more than that. I can heal people, bless crops, do what I wanted to do before I left and study fungi... you know I think I've been outside too long that IS starting to sound dreadfully boring....
I mean if he pressed the issue, like turning up on skies reach to knock on the door or something *shudders* I think I'd have to go back. I know I couldn't stop him from taking me, and I don't know if the entire society could. Either way some good people would get hurt, and I'm not a big enough deal to make that much fuss over.
How about you mr Goladius? All is forgiven, would you go home?
Why's anyone need guns back home anyway? I thought Mengkare's already eaten everything dangerous...
