Now I understand that you cannot stealth while attacking, but what about during a flyby attack. Assuming you have concealment, does this mean that you can fly somewhere, use a standard action in the middle, and then complete the move action (restealthing in the process)?
Seems like the rules for sniping would apply. That'd be a -10 to return to stealth.
Ah, but sniping only refers to ranged attacks, so it would be not giving up your obscured location in the first place.
What would occur, if you ran out of stealth, used a spell (for example, and clearly being out of stealth), ran back into concealment and tried to restealth. The two parts of running being part of the same move action.
The sniping rule (-20 to stealth) is the only exception I'm aware of to the "it's impossible to use Stealth while attacking, running, or charging" rule.
Right, perhaps a more concise question to ask would be:
Does the flyby attack allow the user to restealth following the attack (standard action), since the user is completing the move action after the attack (so restealthing during the completion of the move action).
Since the flyby attack as a whole is not a single action or attack, but just allows you to allocate your actions differently, I was wondering if that would work. Are there any action limitations that would prevent stealth to be used in that situation.
I've always interpreted it as "it's impossible to use Stealth in the same round you attack, run, or charge".
Ah, thanks for your input.
depending on the terrain, however, the creature may be able to go behind total cover/concealment (hide in a cloud or fog bank, in a copse of trees, etc) at the end of their movement :)
That's true. It seems generally useful, but it seems that just starting to read on all the stealth threads, I could be going in over my head.
