Necromancer types

Advice

In our next campaign I would like to run a Necromancer type. We will be using all the Pathfinder books and are willing to incorporate 3.5 and 3rd party books. Now I know I don't even know all the different Necromancer types so I ask you what Necromancer type have you found to be the most fun/interesting?

also any tips for necromancy in general would be greatly appreciated. eg: feats, skills, magic I have to have to not suck so bad.

The cleric undead lord archetype is a good place to start starts you with a zombie or skeleton that levels with you and you get command undead and unlife healer is nice.

Necromancers tend to come in two types.

Type I necromancers raise an army of undead, fight with them, buff their minions, and replace the destroyed fromthe bodies of the slain. They tend to be clerics (since clerics have a lot of great support spells for creating undead), and in some ways are a lot like summoning types. Buff the minions!

Tpe II necromancers are rebuff masters -- fear, curses, enervation -- and are often but not always wizards (you could do one as a negative energy channelling cleric.). They are a lot of fun if you have them with a party behind them to deal with the enemies.

Lantern Lodge

Traditional Wizard focused on Creating undead. Get the Necromancer Variant from Unearthed Arcana to grant u a free skeleton as a minion plus other fun things. See if ur DM will allow the Negative Energy Ray and Burst Spell along with the entire Summon Undead Monster line. There is also a lovely PrC called Master Specialist and Pale Master. Feats to highly consider are Fell Animate, Necromantic Might, Nimble Bones, and Undead Leadership. Also look into becoming a Lich as soon as possible. If Kobolds are allowed play one and check out the Draconomicon and Races od Dragons 3.5 books. If done correctly with the Draconic heritage feats from those u could pick up the Dracolitch PrC like i did in my friends game as a sorcerer.

All the crud im talking about can be found at the following sites.
