A small creature that gets reduce.
Does a crossbow bolt do damage as a small or as a tiny used by a reduced small to tiny.
The book states any reduced item that leaves the reduced creature's possession (including a projectile or thrown weapon) instantly returns to its normal size. This means that thrown weapons deal there normal damage( projectiles deal damage based on the size of the weapon that fired them).
It says that projectiles revert to regular size once it leaves the creature so does it do tiny or small? Why would it still do tiny if it goes back to regular size?
Another question does these rules above apply to a reduced person whom had permanency casted on them?

I would have it do damage of the smaller size.
The bolt increases in size, but damage is listed as a function of the weapon that fires the ammunition, not the ammunition itself. And the weapon (crossbow) is still shrunk.
I think this also makes sense when you think about the fact that the bolt may become larger, but it is only traveling with the force exerted by the smaller limbs of the smaller crossbow which would not logically be able to deliver as much velocity and penetration as a larger crossbow.

If the crossbow is designed for a small person, then the bolt will do the damage of a small crossbow. Like you said, the rules specifically say that projectiles revert to their normal size. The normal size is small.
I'd think the rule would be the same for a reduced person with permanency, since the normal size of the crossbow is still small.

The spell specifies you do the decreased damage.
Melee and projectile weapons deal less damage. Other magical properties are not affected by this spell. Any reduced item that leaves the reduced creature's possession (including a projectile or thrown weapon) instantly returns to its normal size. This means that thrown weapons deal their normal damage (projectiles deal damage based on the size of the weapon that fired them).
Dropping the crossbow would return it to normal size, but then you have to worry if you can use it at all.
Crossbows note they take two hands to shoot. Normally if a weapon takes two hands to use, a smaller creature cannot use that weapon at all.
Since there are rules allowing a character to fire (but not reload) a light crossbow with a penalty one handed, I could see you using a small sized light crossbow while reduced to tiny. You would take the -2 for a wrongly sized weapon at least.

I had a thought of a transmuter that would specialize in thrown weapon combat. So once he reduced himself getting the bonus to dex and ac it would also help him throw the weapons he was holding and as long as he had enough strength he wouldn't get a damage negative. On the reverse if he went into melee the enlarge would add to his damage and to hit. Just experimenting with various character concepts.
