So I've been trying to fix my monk ( originally went dex and wis based, was not working well) my DM agreed to let me adjust my build this once, no house rules (he doesn't think the monk is broke at all) i have a fighter, sorcerer/rouge, and bard in my group and am wanting to set people up to deal damage, we are focusing on role playing the characters not just a dungeon crawl. He is a loud and very friendly fellow who calls everyone friend including those who he is about to fight. He seeks out challenges to improve himself in any way he can often without regard to common sense (he once tracked down some thugs who were trying to kill him, instead of sneaking up on them he kicked the door open and announced himself. In the end they had a drinking contest instead of a fight) we are lvl3 now so most of this is just planed, let me know what you think.
Boulderdash Whangbeard: Dwarf quinggong/drunken master
Str16 dex14 con14 int10 wis16 chra6
Lvl1 B-deflect arrows m-panther style
Lvl2 B-combat reflexes
Lvl3 m-panther claw
Lvl4
Lvl5 m-vicious stomp
Lvl6 B-improved trip
Lvl7 m-dragon style
Lvl8
Lvl9 m-dragon ferocity
lvl10 B-medusa's wrath
Lvl11 m-combat style master
Also my sorcerer will be using a wand of mage armor on me. my plans are to walk around eating up AoO's so for my standard I can do a combat maneuver like a trip or dirty trick without retaliation and using FoB for when i dont need to move thuse giving me multiple attacks whether I move or not. The trip will be good for helping the fighter hit and blind from dirty trick or stunning fist will help the sneak attack for my rouge.
Also do you think a temple sword with ki focus is worth it?

*Cracks Knuckles* First, a Dex / Wis Monk is possible. There are a couple of ways to make it work. Agile Weapon makes it work. A Cleric Dip + Guided Hand also works, and opens up Domain buffs or Domain Strike. Ki Diversity's option to replace STR with WIS works if you are a Drunken Master. Focusing on combat maneuvers, ala trip (Flowing Monk / Maneuver Master), works depending on the campaign and how tanky you want to be. Another, final way is to be a MoMF, but that rout is an uphill battle. That said, as a Dwarf, Wis-based may be the way to go.
On that note, don't use multiple styles unless you are a MoMF.
Understand that, and I can not stress this enough, equipment is your friend. Monks are better in a situation where no one has equipment, but they also benefit the most from it.
Two-Hand a temple sword in the beginning. When you flurry, use kicks. Alternatively, carry a net, throw it first round of combat, move + draw Temple Sword the next. A Ki-Focus Temple Sword is never worth it.
CHA-Based Monks are technically the best for damage, but that involves abusing a particular trait.
What is your trick for getting off Medusa's Wrath? There are a few options. A 7-Branched Sword + Trip, Shattered Defenses, Forcing Stunning Fist to go off (Enforcer + Cruel AoMF)).
Don't be afraid to use Scorching Ray for damage as a Drunken Master.
For your trip / dirty trick / set people up for damage concept, you may want to look into a Master of Many Styles, who seems specialized in the playstyle you are going for.

I don't want to take any dips (character reasons) i know going wis would be good if I had a guided AoMF, but I'm still a ways off from affording such things and going that way i would also need the same enchant on any weapon, seems counter productive when i need to buy so many things already. The reason i was looking at dragon also is the times when i am aginst a boss or when an intelligent foe decides not to use his AoO.
Medusa's wrath will go off whenever i succeed on a stunning fist
Why a net, wouldn't i need proficiency with that along with he branch sword.
Scorching ray will be my replace of high jump @5th (renamed flaming belch for flavor purposes) i haven't decided what else to replace
Cha does most damage, wha? Its my only dump stat and fits his character besides, but still, huh?
I'm not sure if the 2 styles will work or not, but MoMS doesn't look like I could get off nearly as many attacks, more damage per attack ,but fewer attacks using panther by 8th lvl i could get 7 to 9 attacks while on the move but 6 or 7 while still. with this build using trips for AoO i could have 9 or 10 while moving and 9 using FoB
The MoMS build lookes like this:
1- panther style, dragon style
2- panther claw
3- combat reflexes
5- vicious stomp
6- dragon ferocity
7- boar style
I was planning on using boar style to especially help with stunning fist damage as i dont believe they get a saving throw when they get no action while stunned

I havent played this yet but i plan on making a monk my self and if u want u can use the build i want to use because i may not even get to use it. It is a Monk 11/ Duelist 9 with Base stats of Str 10, Dex 16, Con 10, Int 15, Wis 15, Cha 07. With magic items it would have +6 in dex, int and wis and from leveling a +4 in dex and +1 in wis for a total of 26 dex, 21 int, and 22 wis. This character will have nice defenses but i know u want to focus more on offense which is a simple fix. By adding a +5 Agile Amulet of Mighty Fists and picking up the Weapon Finesse feat to now apply ur dex to hit and damage for natural attacks and have them count as +5 magic weapons. Not to mention at that level monk ur unarmed attacks will do d10s so its still great offense as well as stellar defense. If u want to get Power Attack u can just lower Int from a base 15 to 14 and con from base 10 to 9 and place that into str for a total 13. This of course is dealing with a 20 point buy system if the system is different of course the stats will be to and u will have to adjust accordingly.

The main part of this build is drunken master, I want a monk that will be able to deal decent damage for groups (panther style) or one opponent (dragon) i figure that I'll be able to get off few combat maneuvers after panther because most opponents only have 1 AoO so no point in getting improved trip/disarm or grapple except for the +2. I can do the normal monk or MoMS monk but its hard to compare them just on paper, has anyone played a panther focused build? Does it work?

You can't use a Temple Sword two-handed through your entire flurry anymore, sadly.
...And I meant Maneuver Master is perfect for your style, not MoMF. Whoops.
Just take the -4 penalty when throwing a net. Its vs touch AC.
Wis-Based MoMS works off an elemental fist styly, Ki Diversity, and Tiger style (possibly also with Dragon Style, but that can be supplemented with a defensive style instead). The end result is that when you spend the swift and attack with Tiger Style you wind up dealing something like ~(Base Unarmed Damage)*2+WIS Mod*6+(1d6+1d6 per 5 levels)*2 damage in one attack, with a chance to crit.
Its not as good as it sounds, except vs enemies with a lot of DR.

You can't use a Temple Sword two-handed through your entire flurry anymore, sadly.
Yes you can according to the most recent FAQ update.
Monk Flurry of Blows: When I use flurry of blows, can I make all of the attacks with just one weapon, or do I have to use two, as implied by the ability functioning similarly to Two-Weapon Fighting?
You can make all of your attacks with a single monk weapon. Alternatively, you can replace any number of these attacks with an unarmed strike. This FAQ specifically changes a previous ruling made in the blog concerning this issue.
