Website Feedback

Have everything you've posted to these forums deleted? Is something like that even possible?

Paizo Employee PostMonster General

We've never really done that, once comments are posted they're pretty much part of the website permanently. (We have on very rare occasions gone back and redacted personal information from old posts for people who posted their email address or phone number or whatever years ago. But that's a once-every-couple-years type thing. And it won't help the case where search engines have already archived the page.)

okay, thank you

If you don't mind me asking, why would you want everything deleted?

I don't mind you asking. I sometimes get upset with myself for perpetuating ideas that I have that I should stop having, and sort of get a bit depressed, and then begin to think that I will feel better if I can make it all go away and try to stop pretending to be something that I am not. It passes, but it is painful while it lasts.

I probably shouldn't clutter up the feedback forum with a pity party, but thank you for asking.

Early on, I wondered about the wisdom of using my real name for posting on a forum (when I signed up, I didnt consider that I'd actually be posting anything - it was just to buy stuff). I could imagine someone wishing to remove their history for that reason (although perhaps Paizo wouldnt mind renaming someone who had made a forum name without really thinking it through).

To be honest i've pondered this question myself as if someone googles my name pretty much all the hits they get will be from Paizo which has implications for when someone is checking me when I enter employment etc...

But I figured it was a little late now. Hindsight is 20/20.
