Multiclassing

Advice

Is multi-classing allowed and if so what would go well with a witch?

Grand Lodge

Yes, as for core Pathfinder.

What would go well? The Magical Knack trait. As for classes, what abilities do you hope to improve by multiclassing?

Dark Archive

Ask yourself, instead, what would NOT go with a Witch? Look at the idea of multi-classing as opening wide new doors for your character, adding Class Skills, ramping up existing powers/feats, pumping up hit points/BAB/Saves, or just additional RP options.

After pining about what the party needs,my attitude has become, "If I want to see it at the table, I need to bring it." Don't be ashamed about multi-classing into three, four, Heck, five different classes. Frankly, every Pathfinder needs a level of Rogue to do the job.

Specific to Witch; as your name implies, go Paladin (armor does not hurt the Hex ability), Monk (Boost AC & Saves), Cleric (Domains & CLW), Bard (Songs & Knowledges), Rogue (Traps & Evasion), Barbarian (HP & Rage), Gunslinger (Gun, need I say more?), Alchemist (Bombs & Mutagen).

Find a class that fits your build/stats and adds some new wrinkles/shizzle. Enjoy!

You forgot Druid (a witch with a panda, why not?), Fighter (Free feats, YAY!), Ranger (Also free feats, though a more limited list), Sorcerer (Bloodline powers, though Eldritch Heritage works just as well), Wizard (Yea, um, probably not the best choice), Cavalier (Again, free feats, Order abilities, and a horse to boot - Consider taking four levels and grabbing Horse Master), Inquisitor (Domains, and Judgement), Magus (Spellstrike, nuff said, note that you need magus 6 to use spellstrike with non-magus spells), Oracle (Revelations, and some Curses are nice - such as Deaf, which works for all spells not just Oracle spells), Summoner (Not a good splash due to the Eidolon not leveling up), Ninja (some of the things you can do with ki are nice, asian flavor), and Samurai (Order abilities, asian flavor).

Now I want to see an Alchemist1/Barbarian1/Bard1/Cavalier1/Cleric1/Druid1/Ex-Paladin1/Fighter1/G unslinger1/Inquisitor1/Magus1/Monk1/Rogue1/Sorcerer1/Witch1/Wizard1, but good luck with overcoming a BAB of +5 at level 16.

Note, Please do not attempt to make an Alchemist1/Barbarian1/Bard1/Cavalier1/Cleric1/Druid1/Ex-Paladin1/Fighter1/G unslinger1/Inquisitor1/Magus1/Monk1/Rogue1/Sorcerer1/Witch1/Wizard1, it is not an effective character and will not be of much help to anyone.

Good saves, though.

True, saves will be epic, but can't hit a fish in a barrel.

Yep. You can't hurt anything, and nothing will hurt you. Mostly because you're not enough of a threat to worry about... :)

But, oh, the cantrips!

Why MC Witch?
If you have a concept, you should know the answer to your question.
If you don't, don't MC. The ramped casting & hexes is better than anything another class offers. (Again, assuming you have no concept other than 'normal Witch', whatever that is.)

Use your higher Int to pick up some non-traditional skills, and perhaps use some feats/traits/racial abilities to pick up other non-Witch abilities, but sacrificing a level of full caster is not worth it unless you're half-hearted about casting.

There's no good reason, at all.

The new PF classes don't multiclass well. They're not supposed to.

Grand Lodge

There's always room for a Fighter level.

Imo Witch makes a better Eldritch knight anyway, their spell-list having cure various wounds and whatnot

Well, yeah. Everybody looks cool with a greatsword.
