Getting a "Rocky Mountain" High?

Advice

Alright, that title was a bit of as stretch.

Basically, what I'm looking for is a way to make a paladin fly. Preferably through natural flight that he can do at will. Assume you can use anything found on the SRD that isn't 3rd party.

Best way I've seen so far is being an Aasimar, and taking the feat that gives you wings. But it only gives you 20 feet of flight, with poor maneuverability, if you're wearing heavy armor.

So what do you guys think? Magic items are allowed, but like I said natural self-induced flying is preferable.

Oath Against the Wyrm gets you the Fly spell.

There's a lot of other races that can get you wings of some sort but probably Aasimar is best for a paladin.

Eldritch Heritage (Celestial) line of feats gets you angel wings eventually.

Sovereign Court

Some magic items that might help, from least to most expensive:

Winged Boots - 15 minutes of flight per day in 5 minute increments

Broom of Flying - 9 hours of overland flight per day, comes when called

Winged Shield - heavy wooden shield +3, flight once per day

Carpet of Flying - overland flight all day long; controlled with spoken directions

Pearl of Power, 5th level - get your wizard to cast overland flight on you when he gets himself in the morning

Celestial Plate Armor - fly once per day and other stuff

Cloak of the Bat - up to 7 minutes flight at a time, followed by equal delay

Wings of Flying - takes up shoulder slot; unlimited 60 ft flight per day

The Sacred Servant Paladin can pick a Domain that grants the Fly spell.
