Petition to cut the citizenship of anyone who can't undertake and pass a university level engineering class and deport them.

No complaints: you have until 2020AD.

What type of engineering? Cuz, like, I have a degree in sound engineering...am I safe?

Somebody addend the petition to include people who spell "lose" with two o's.

Could we combine this with your other petition? All the disadvantaged women from third world countries flee to the US for asylum, then fail to pass an engineering class and get deported.

@Spanky the Leprechaun: yellowdingo isn't a US citizen, so it wouldn't affect him

For national security reasons everyone is a citizen whether you think so or not...

That's just laptop failure...three keys down and others locking in multiple key strokes.

String Theory invalidates engineering classes and petitions.

This is why I can't take petitions on whitehouse.gov seriously. For every one good one, there is poorly thought out crap like this.

And it's "lose". A lack of proofreading is a sign of laziness and ineptitude.

Well, while I currently have the option to go to the US (my wife is American, our four children have dual UK/US citizenship, I have a degree in Archaeology) but due to having health issues, and being frankly terrified of the US health system we're never likely to go near the place beyond maybe a holiday.

However, it seems really odd that only engineering is an option, and not any other kinds of degrees.

US needs 10 million engineers by 2020...

It must be nice to live in a black and white world Mr. Dingo

And how many does it currently have? Aren't there other professions that America is low on?

Ditch diggers.

Sorry if it sounds mean, but it's best not to encourage yellowdingo. He rarely has insightful responses to, well, anything, and it's futile to debate with him. Probably better to ignore his topics.

I got that he wasn't fully up on the issue he himself raised, what with the 'Ditch diggers' comment. Thanks for the warning though.

It's okay, Comrade Dingo, I still believe in you.

I've got a masters, but it's not engineering. I consider myself pretty bright and science savvy. However, I'm not entirely sure I could pass a college-level engineering test. Depends on what's on it.

Well, I've been thinking of going back to college anyway.

But seriously, you are a terrible, horrible person for suggesting that a person's worth is tied to their level of education. Furthermore you seem to be under the impression that there are a lot of engineering jobs available to anybody who wants them. That doesn't seem to be true, in fact in America we have a lot of people who have advanced degrees but no opportunity to make use of them, including some of my friends. So not only is you're suggestion born of arrogance and callousness it's also ignorant as well.

YD brings up the occasional interesting thought. He isn't the best debator, but that's another story entirely. I can say that I wouldn't sign such a petition, however.

It's yellowdingo. What do you expect?

It doesn't even make sense. You can't just strip people of citizenship and deport them. Where do you send them? Most non-engineers aren't immigrants. You can't kick people out without sending them somewhere.

YellowDingo is a special person with special ideas. When I read his suggestions, I get an intense feeling of "handle with care". I may be wrong, of course.
