So we are starting a new Rappan Athuk game with a larger group. So far we have a wizard, paladin, 2 fighters and a druid. What I am looking for is some help on what I should make. I'm guessing some sort of divine caster but I usually do not have much fun with them so looking for an interesting build to use. Any help would be great.

A trapfinder I suppose. From what I've heard there's plenty of those in that place. A bard, ranger or rogue can fulfill this role. A bard archaeologist (archetype) can function as a ranged damage dealer AND trapfinder at once.
Arcane Strike, Point-Blank shot, Rapid Shot, Precise Shot and Deadly Aim together with Lingering Performance are great core feats for such a build. With the right traits, spells and items you'll be a great trapfinder/disabler to boot.

Yeah I was thinking that we were lacking in some ranged damage. Hmmm maybe I will have to look into that. Do most think bard is a better choice then rogue here.
Trapfinding and archery?
Sounds tailor made to require an Urban Ranger. Don't let the name fool you, he'll kick plenty of butt in a dungeon.

I don't want to spoil things for you, unless you want that, but two things would be useful.
A trap finder and something good against undead. So, maybe play a multi-class rogue/cleric or rogue/oracle who can heal/deal with undead.
A bard is useful in a party your size, but will you have fun buffing people? That's always the trade off, not that you cant make a good combat bard but they excel at buffing.

Don't worry too much about what you should make for your first PC; you'll be on your third or fourth PC before you know it.
I'm only half-kidding.
More like 1/3 kidding, I'd say.
I would advise against a bard because they don't have disable device. Granted you can work around that, but I would suggest using a ranger with the trapper or urban ranger archetype. And I would probably lean toward urban ranger.

Speaking from experience, Inquisitor. I'm playing one in RA right now and he's a boss. You fill the role of a Divine caster, though you should be relying on wands for healing more than spells per day. You also can fill the role of either ranged damage with a bow or crossbow, or wade into the front line with a 2h weapon and buff yourself for massive AC and saves. I'm playing the 2h weapon version, and I'm probably the most tanky person in my party.

There are plenty of traits that give you disable device AND a +1 on it to boot. The archaeologist gets some sick bonusses on perception and disable disable. A feat or rogue talent (they get some over the levels) can push your bonusses up even higher. I'm not saying it is BETTER than the rogue (although I believe it to be, hehe, thanks to having archaeo's luck + arcane strike to give you a reliable boost to your combat performance), but it can fulfill the role of trapfinder and ranged damage dealer remarkably well.
And you'll have access to great (support) spells. Heroism and Haste are fantastic.

Ok, you've sold me. I'm gonna try out the archaeologist next time I lose a character in Rappan Athuk (which may be depressingly soon considering where we left off last session). But heaven help you if I don't like it as much :p.
