Will it stack? Pounce + flurry of blows.

I looked around on the message boards and found some talk about pounce and flurry of blows. but that was mostly Natural attacks.

So my question is this.

level 17 Four Winds Monk.
Tiger aspect: "1/hour can charge 10 times his land speed and is treated to have the Pounce ability."

Can pounce use the flurry of blows number of attacks? Or is it strictly a full attack only. What would you rule?

Flurry of Blows is a full attack, anything you do on full attacks work with the pounce ability.

When you can find ways to pounce with flurry you have won the game.

I read and re-read the rules portions. They work together.

Wow, Well if this is true. I think I may have discovered ownage.

Combine this with Dragon Style (Can charge through rough terrain with no hindrance), Medusa's strike (+2 attacks when using full attack w/ unarmed on flatfooted, stunned, ect.) that's a total of 9 hits.

Takeing into account the x10 movement speed for the charge once per hour. At that level your speed is 90. You'd be charging at a speed of 900. I doubt many attackers can see you at 900 feet away, in addition to the fact that your traveling at 102 miles per hour, so I would assume that they would be flat footed. See above.

Welp, I know what I'm rolling next! Thanks everyone!

Not really.

You are still a Monk.

Remember, if they can't see you you might not be able to see them, and you couldn't initiate a charge attack, so don't count your long-distance chickens before they hatch.

Barbarian can get Pounce 7 levels earlier.

Also, deal more damage than a Monk.

Power attack + Improved Critical (Unarmed) + Elemental Fist (4d6) + Amulet of Mighty Fists + Ki point for extra attack at full BAB tells me otherwise.

Grand Lodge

Barbarian can wear Brawling armor, manifest claws, and with Feral Combat Training, apply the effects of the Brawling armor to his claws.

He can have Dragon Style too. He will have a higher BAB, more strength to attacks, and be less MAD overall.

So, claw, claw, bite, unarmed, and whatever other weapon he wants to use.

Liberty's Edge

How do you get the unarmed and other weapons in with the claw-claw-bite(assuming you have the bite)?

Unarmed is not just with the hands, and armor can have spikes.

Shadow Lodge

black blood is correct. a barbarian can out attack/damage/survive a monk.

and while raging can have better saves.

a barbarian at level 12 can pounce, 2x claw, bite, unarmed strike (kick head butt what ever) with TWF chain, then have come and get me for the targets next turn. so if he does not kill you on the pounce, he will if you choose to hit him on your turn.

full bab strength based barbarian (at 12) can easily hit for 12+10 just off strength and bab alone. a monk would be much much lower for those attacks.

but your monk should be ok for a home game with friends. it will be able to dis out some pain, but will suck against high DR targets.

oh and i forgot, barbarians can rage cycle at 12th level, which means any buffing "once per rage abilities" get to be used every round. g%# d*&n barbarians are awesome in PF.

Grand Lodge

I have not even touched the Mounted Barbarian, for the Rage/Lance/Pounce combo.

There are much better ways to get pounce that don't involve waiting until level 17, playing a vastly underpowered archetype, or even playing a monk at all.

Grand Lodge

My point is this:

It is good for the Monk to have some nice things.

Just don't go trying to convince anyone that any thing he does is overpowered.

It just ain't true.
