Product suggestion / request Illustration / image book

I would imagine this has been suggested before.
I know long ago old version of D&D adventures tried a couple black and white illustration booklets. I am pretty sure there was one with Tomb of Horrors.

Piazo is know for GREAT art work.
I think this could be an easy simple but useful supplement.
With release of AP, or any adventure, Piazo could also release illustration booklet (and PDF).
Perhaps even a couple full maps fold out posters.

Game Mastery could display picture as he/she read room discription.
Visual image along with verbal discription would be very helpful (I think)
Full page poster could show city, large complex room, throne room, or any climatic encounter. Other normal sized pictures could show important NPCs,creatures, rooms, etc.

Has this idea been considered? Is this practical?

First, let me say I think it would be an awesome addition - maybe the new module line can tinker/experiment with something similar.

Having said that, I think there are some serious practical problems given the timeline of producing a product. I know WotC did a similar thing with some of their recent modules and there was often a problem caused (I believe) by art orders being placed before the editting/development was finished. Meaning that some of the illustrations dont show the room as it actually ended up. That would be a tricky thing to balance - if you wait until the book's development/editting is finished, it would presumably prolong production unreasonably.

It'd be great to see a booklet of illustrations again though (not for every adventure, but for the right kind of module).

Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan had a great artbook included, and I think that the one in Expedition to the Barrier peaks had one in color, which,along with it being a great adventure, really made it standout at the time.

Agreed...this would be great to have as the art is something that Paizo really outdo themselves with.

To the OP, all current (new release) AP PDFs come with a separate file covering all the maps...very nice tool t have.

But my suggestion with this thread is not really maps
Would LOVE To see nice art work that Piazo is know for illustrating special parts of adventure
Perhaps a full fold out poster (or 2) showing climatic scene and /or broad view of city/castle/town

Then booklet with many normal page sized illustrations of various NPCs/Creatures/ rooms/etc

PDF could EASILY be part of this supplement
