I'll be playing PFS all weekend at Totalcon in Boston Next week. I planned this character up to level 4 so I wouldn't have to make quick decisions before games. http://paizo.com/people/ShootingStar
I choose Tiefling/Rakshasa-Spawn because I thought it would be pretty cool to have bestial features for the Egyptian feel. Anyone see any flavor issues with what what I chose? All suggestions are welcome!

Don't you need to take the Fiendish Heritage feat if you want to be a variant Tiefling?
Variant Tiefling Heritages were reprinted in Blood of Fiends. "Heritages: all heritages, and associated traits, on pages 18–23 are legal"

I made a custom miniature for this character if anyone is interested!

Body: Changeling Rogue (Unhallowed), Head: HUNTING COUGAR War Drums 19/60
(Yes, I know technically Rashasa have reversed hands but the base model's hands are kind of blobby anyhow so I let it slide. :)

So, I'm level 2 now... Starting Thursday I'll be playing PFS all weekend (Ending on Sunday).
At what point in my character career should I purchase a magic weapon/armor or deflection/protection and in what order should I prioritize them?
Before playing my character at level 2 I'll be spending my 2 PP on a Wand of Cure Light Wounds. Should my next PP investment be a masterwork scimitar?
Suggestions?
PS. Thanks for helping me get ready for my first PFS con!

After making sure you have a cure wand, you should probably start saving up your prestige, in case you ever need to be raised from the dead. Spend money on equipment, and save the PA.
I don't think you mentioned what class you're playing. What equipment you need will be heavily dependent on your class and role that you intend to play. Remember that you need to buy masterwork equipment before you can upgrade it to magical.
I'd recommend coming up with a list of the things you'd like to buy for your character, with prices. ie Masterwork weapon, masterwork armor, +1 magic weapon upgrade, +1 magic armor upgrade, +1 cloak of resistance, etc. Bring it with you to the convention. As you play, you'll see what you need. Playing a lot of sessions over the weekend, you'll pick up money after each one and see what you can afford.

Oracle
Main focus - Keeping the party alive with Cures, Channel Energy and liberal uses of Misfortune.
Secondary focus - Melee combat with scimitar.
I'd imagine my typical combat round to be:
Rnd 1: Bless, move closer.
Rnd 2: Draw weapon (Standard because of Haunted) if I didn't have it out already ELSE attack.
Stay alive, heal as needed.

Hey, I'll see you there on Saturday.
Take a picture of your mini, and attach it to your table tent. As a judge, that's the information I want the most, which figure matches which player.
I'd just buy the scimitar with gold. Use the PP purchases for things that are worth very close to the full 750! Like wands and scrolls.

Just checking out your Oracle...
Heirloom weapon trait scimitar proficiency is questionable. For flavor maybe sounds like fun, but if you ever lose that scimitar or it gets sundered, you lose the proficiency. Granted, this might never happen in PFS. And you can enchant it, though first you'll have to shell out 360gp to get a spellcaster to cast masterwork transformation on it to make it masterwork.
But if you do want an heirloom weapon proficiency, maybe a rapier would be better since it qualifies for Weapon Finesse, and so one of the enchantments you can give it is Agile (add Dex to damage for +1 equivalent.)
And I'm not sure how well UMD goes with the Haunted curse since drawing anything you'd want to use in combat will be a standard action, then use it next round, so UMD becomes a 2 round action. Might be lame, but as an Oracle you can pick your diety without concern, and Abadar (civilization and commerce) allows you to take the trait Eyes of the City making Perception a class skill and at +1. With only 8 Wis it will be kind of weak, but being able to notice stuff and act in a surprise round is pretty good.
Perform (Dance) is just for flavor, right? Your call, but certainly not an optimization choice.
Also, initiative is crucial for casters looking to buff (bless) or debuff (misfortune). If you're not married to weapon finesse consider Improved Initiative instead.
If you really want to wade into the front lines of battle you'll probably want more Strength.
Well, a lot of this is a done deal if you've already played with your character at level 2, but if you haven't played him yet after getting your 3rd XP, you can still rebuild.
Alternate stats might be (assuming you really want DEX higher than CHA, even though all your spell DC's would appreciate swapping them)
STR 14
DEX 18
CON 12
INT 8
WIS 8
CHA 16
given that your primary role will be healer/caster, I'd probably recommend
STR 12
DEX 16
CON 14
INT 8
WIS 8
CHA 18
you won't be quite as effective in combat, but you'll stay alive longer and your debuffs will have more punch

I should really start clumping these up. An oracle should have a single focus. It's really tough to pull off both melee and casting. Since you're channeling, you're a life oracle. The revelation that heals an ally 5 and hurts you five is huge. You don't have the con to pull that or melee combat off, however.
