Iv been looking into the Preservationist alot lately and iv always loved the Vivisectionist and i have recently read a guid to a reach cleric. Would this be a viable build. Im looking at a dex build with an agile long spear.
I've always considered the words "Viable build" and a concept that falls on its face without a specific enchantment to be mutually exclusive, but...
For an honest critique, I don't think Longspear (or any reach weapon) qualifies for weapon finesse so the agile weapon property can't be added to it.
Also, reach sneak attacks can be difficult as it can be tough to get to flanking position sometimes when the fight isn't in wide open spaces.
Have you considered whips? They can be weapon finessed, and as such agile weapons. It might also fit thematically with preservationist if you made yourself out to be something of an lion tamer of something along those lines. Whips can hit directly next to you unlike typical reach weapons, so you could still take advantage of Sneak attack. It also have 15 feet of reach.
You would obviously have trouble doing damage until you get the proper feats, but you could control the battlefield which is always appreciated. The problem is that whip mastery need both weapon focus (whip) and BAB+2. Taking a dip into fighter at level 3 could solve this though, giving you both prerequisites at once. After this you can deal lethal damage and do not have to worry about that +1 armor or +3 natural armor nonsense.
Unfortunately, for all this, the whip does not threaten squares like the polearm (since you are likely using the action economy from the reach cleric guide.) Other reach weapons viable for agile enhancements include kobold tail attachments (you can get this through racial heritage as a human or aasimir) Overall though, it might be better to go with a STR based build.

I am very fond of Whips. I made and played a rogue using whips and it was extremely fun. Add in the whirlwind feat chain with lunge and the intimidating feats and u have ur self a decent 20ft radius 1d4 attack + SA attack every round. Same can be done with a Vivisectionist and maybe even better do to discoveries like Enhance, Extend, and Eternal Potion along with Great/Grand/True Mutegen giving u a decent stat increase. Though with such character id highly suggest Bramble Brewer and flavor the whip as a vine for when u mutate out.
