Ok, guys, I am kicking around ideas for a back up for my Dwarf paladin/Hospitaler. We are 8th level, all Dwarves. Core & APG only, with feats from the two Ultimate books, and the Dwarf book. 20 pt buy, dumping CHA is not good.
We lack ranged attacks somewhat. We have a battle oracle, a white witch, a summoner, a inquisitor, myself the paladin, and joining us will be a wizard. Pretty much, duplicates are frowned upon.
Cleric would be nice, as you can see, but they are not much for ranged, and Torag is the deity of choice.
No “ye olde magik shoppe” so altho we have some cool loot, you can’t rely upon buying a particular magic thing.

Maybe a ranger? Since you say you lack ranged support, guessing the inquisitor is melee focused. You can wear med armor without paying movement penalty, take the archery combat style, switch off to a falchion or greataxe or warhammer or whatever. You will also be able to skill-monkey a little bit, group seems pretty slim on that front, and you can pick up a wand of CLW to help out with the healing.

Back up dwarf to me implies a back up singer. How about a Bard? :) I have seen some archery-focused bard builds somewhere on these forums. Plus he'd be a natural skill monkey, and he would keep with your theme of "holy cow, everybody casts a ton of spells" party. :)
Tho I guess classes that dont cast spells or that even have them as low progression (instead of medium or high) are pretty few and far between in Pathfinder/3.x.

Dwarves have to be strictly back up. They don't have the grace to master the slide out of the line up
Back to topic though, I would stay with ranger. Yeah rogue has more skills, bard would have the same amount of skills and spells, however what they do not have, and neither does anyone in your party, is a full BAB, d10 hd, AND the ability to perform well at range and in melee. All that and good hunk of skills? You'd be the all-star.
Vote ranger bro. You want to. Search your feelings. You know it to be true.

Ah, I take it you are of the school that dislikes Rogues. Oh well.
I wouldn't say that anyone has expressed "dislike" for rogues, but rangers can do ranged combat better. (Range, Ranger? See its right there. Yeah I amuse myself.) While a Rogue will probably have a good Dex score, making him accurate at range, it's handicapped by a 3/4 BAB, and the majority of their damage output comes from SA. Which has been long been lamented as being very difficult to get on ranged attacks.

If the party lacks ranged attacks, definitely make a ranged character.
Zen archers are very nice, especially if you start them at 3rd level or above where you get to use Wis to your bow attacks immediately (and the dwarven Wis bonus is very nice here). The UAS benefit means that you will threaten adjacent spaces while using a bow, and Point Blank Master at level 3 means you won't provoke, so they lack the standard archer vulnerability to getting trapped in melee range.
Ranger is also a solid choice and probably has the advantage in ranged/melee versatility (they're the classic switch hitters) and in skills, with more skill points and benefits like Track - or switch to Urban Ranger and get trapfinding at level 3. The spells are nice, too, though with that party maybe not so big a deal.
Don't think you can go wrong with either class.
