I am putting these questions out in honor of the completion of the Shattered Star AP in order to see what people would choose as well as for a bit of fun.
First you are creating a character similar to yourself (or what you would want to be) who will serve a Runelord (either willingly or unwillingly). This character can be placed either during the time of ancient Thassilon or in modern day Varisia.
1.What is your character?
2.Which Runelord would you serve?
3.Why are you serving (or would you serve) that Runelord?

1. My Character is an LN Azlanti Illusionist Wizard named Osterian who is apprenticed under Xanderghul and is willingly under a Geas spell to serve his Runelord and never move against him. A level 20 wizard (no mythic levels) who masters every field of illusion he can find. using Glamer and Figments to both make himself humble, hidden, or appear glorious and impressive when needed. Patterns to present his creativity and to confuse his enemies. Phantasms, as he prefers his opponents to fear him rather then needing to kill them (it would be a waste of valuable subjects). and shadows to act in place of spells in the field of conjuration that he is unable to access due to his specialization (with shadow jump spells and shadow minions). he can be found either as a hermit on the street watching the people for signs of rebellion or in the court dressed in the finest robes only outmatched by Xanderghul himself, with a presence only second to his.
He wields a weapon like his Xandurghul, a +3 lucrene hammer as a focus item, made from a combined alloy of Adamantine and Horaculum, enchanted with the properties of Impervious, glamored, and Speed with the augmentation that allows him to use it one handed. He bears different sets of items on him depending on whether he intends to appear humble or ostentatious.
When Xanderghul had discovered the fate of Thassilon, Osterian was able to look into his lords divinations and discover the same. So while he helps his lord prepare for the starfall, Osterian is also laying the plans for his own way of surviving the event. He quietly went to the ruined city of Xin and crafted a connection to the realm of shadows in which he created his own timeless sanctuary from the starfall. he planned to wait out the event and then return through the portal in order to help awaken Xanderghul. But he didn't expect the portal to end up underwater and found himself trapped unable to travel back. for ages he waited.
he then felt a strong force of magic coming from the other side of the portal. realizing that the portal was now above water, he gathered his tools and under an invisibility spell traveled thru the portal into a new time. He soon learned that a group of heroes had faced and defeated Karzoug, while another assembled the Sihedron and destroyed Xin which caused the rise of the city that allowed Osterian to escape. Osterian now plots, laying the plans for stealing the Sihedron giving it to Xanderghul after he has been awakened.
Osterion starts combat by turning himself permanently invisible with the greater invisibility spell, and using a clone to act as a decoy. while his clone is being attacked, he uses further illusions to disorient, terrify, and tries to scare them to death. but if none of his tactics work, he wraps himself in a disorienting and empowering illusions and goes into combat casting both offensive and defensive spells, while using his lucrene hammer to physically attack his foes. He fights to the death in service to his Runelord.

That's an interesting idea! I look forward to seeing what people come up with.
One comment on Osterian: the result of a Clone spell is inert until the original is dead, not to mention that it takes time and a full lab to grow one in the first place. Maybe Osterian would use instead Mislead followed by Project Image?

That's actually more of what I was trying to say, or perhaps a simulacrum spell with a telepathy connection.

I'm actually creating a Thassilonian Restriction (Greed) Wizard for Skull and Shackles. He wants to become a super-powerful, super-rich pirate wizard so that he can return to his native Riddleport, head northeast, and fill the vacancy that's been open since RotRL in Xin-Shalast.
Needless to say this is a bit of a pipe dream.

It's all fun and games until you hit level 15.
