If you're going to do Calvin & Hobbes though, some things to consider:
Animated wagon as a mount.
Beast Shape IV - Tyrannosaur.
Uses Polymorph other - with a plastic squirtgun as the material component.
Needs a level dip as gunslinger and hat of disguise to become "Tracer Bullet".
Not sure how you're gonna do Spaceman Spiff though...

@ AD:
So... where does the Cardboard box fit into that? :P
Well, Calvin initially created his transmogrifier as a cardboard box. However, that seemed to be too unwieldy for him and in subsequent strips he reduced the size of it into a hand-held device that looked amazingly like an ordinary squirt-gun. It was with the squirt-gun that he and Hobbes had the awesome transmogrification duel which ended when the transmogrifier malfunctioned after turning Hobbes back to a tiger but left Hobbes as an owl. Which was very unfortunate since Calvin did not like mice.
The cardboard box would still work as transmogrifier/duplicator/time machine of course.

Why not a Druid? I'm not sure how I feel about Hobbes being an eidolon. Besides, aren't eidlons supposed to be obviously alien?
Hobbes is imaginary, so him being a construct of calvins mind is best represented by an eidolon, rather than a real animal.
And i'm pretty sure hobbes is not what a regular natural tiger looks like in the comic's style either so the obviously fantastic look part is covered.

+1
I do wonder how does others see Hobbes as a stuff toy when Calvin falls asleep...Can an Eidolon "materialize" around a soft toy?
