I am having a Cavalier that is a distant cousin of the Valdemars join the party in the 2nd session...
Spoiler:
He is being sent by his mentor in the Brothers of the Seven 'Society' to deliver a note to Aldern at the dinner table with the heroes at The Rusty Dragon. He will then be able to join the party after helping them through the Catacombs.
My question is can I play the Brothers of the Seven as a totally normal society of rich people somewhat like freemasons and not be burned down the plotline in this AP? Whereas only one of them is involved in this mess?

spoiler:
The Brothers of the Seven was like the Freemasons. It was started as a high society secretive organization. With Judge Ironbriar it morphed into a cult of Norgorber, the diety of secrets, thievery and assassination. Not nice. I could see a new member not knowing about the sinister aspects of the organization. There is likely a process or indoctrination into the organization. Those that get wrapped up in it either become members or victims.

I have a pc who is currently on a 2 week break from the game while on vacation. He told me before he left that his character was going to Magnimar to investigate the brothers of 7 and also keep an eye on Tsuto's upcoming trial. What information would be reasonable for him to learn before he joins the party back in Sandpoint?
