Disease, onset and such

Rules Questions

Now, as I understand it, diseases USUALLY allow a save before the effects start occuring, right? With onset, it could take a while before that save needs to be made. So here's the thing:

Supposing a player failed his save and got infected with something like Necrotic boils (from the festrog), he'd roll a save, failing that, he'd have a day before he has to roll again to make sure he doesn't suffer any ill effects. No ill effects can occur until the onset period is over, but suppose a player wanted to get it over with (I suspect I'll have several players like this), would they get the chance to roll to save BEFORE the onset period is done?

Necrotic boils takes a day before it starts working, could they roll before that day is over? Also, normally they need to roll (after the onset period) once per day to see if they ignore the effects of the illness, but they can also choose to roll more often to hurry up the process, correct?

Do they also still heal ability damage per day?

Could I please have some clarification on this matter?

No, not unless a spell or ability is used that allows a new save, and even then the exact wording would be relevant: the PC is infected, but not actually sick (yet).

No, I don't think so. It would be a cheesy way to undo afflictions anyway: boost your save, and then take all the rolls while that effect lasts.

Yes, unless the affliction's description says otherwise.

Thanks :)

One more question though now that you mention the possible cheesing:

Do they decide when during the day that they save? Because that could allow them to also prepare for it via boosting that save and such.
