Bracers if Falcon's Aim and Gunslinger Question

Advice

Grand Lodge

As the resident Gunslinger for the group, I've become the go-to guy for our Perception-based checks, and I'm also the Survivalist and "Heal b+%#+", having maximized my capabilities in all three skills while also having Stealth and Acrobatics. Basically I am the group's sniper: a Musket Master archtype meant for long-distance fighting.

I've been looking through the Ultimate Equipment book for item ideas, and having 4,000g to work with I've decided to go for items equivalent to Bracers of Falcon's Aim. For those who don't know, it provides a permanent "Aspect of the Falcon" spell while they are worn, without the transformative effects. It provides +3 to Perception, +1 to ranged attack rolls, and your bow and crossbow critical threat range becomes 19-20/x3. I am wondering if the spell itself was modified so it could help Gunslingers (I haven't found anything), and if not is there an item equivalent to the bracers for the same amount.

I'm not aware of an equivalent for gunslingers, and I don't believe that aspect of the falcon has been altered.

If you want a bonus to Perception, try eyes of the eagle.

Is strange that the same questions come up around the same time in different parts of the world.

I also have been looking at Bracers of Falcon's aim for my Musket Master. The bonus to attack is nice as is the +3 Competence bonus to Perception. The last bonus of extending the crit range would of made the item far better if it was all ranged weapons, but its inhibitors like bows only which makes the price of this item 4k and not any higher. I have been scouring Ultimate Equipment for a long time now. Im yet to find anything that increases threat range for the musket, in fact generally there is a lack of items for the Gunslinger (apart from say the items that hold grit).

The only way my musket master can at the moment increase his threat range if he targets the torso via the targeting ability at level 7. Then it becomes 19-20.

I don't honestly think its worth it to buy Eyes of the Eagle as its +5, and you are getting +3 through the Bracers.

It's the same with slings. No love at all for them. Gunslingers at least get the grit equip.

@Matthew: I guess Paz meant to suggest buying the eyes instead on the bracers.

I'd be ok with houseruling it to work in my game, but there's no official version.

Aye, doesn't affect a gun's crit range or modifier, nor should it at that price. It's still effective for a fairly cheap +1 on attack rolls at higher levels, though, which gunslingers can greatly benefit from if they're going for the fire-over-a-dozen-bullets-per-round build.

Quendishir: I think there is still a lot of reluctance at Paizo re the Gunslinger, which is why I dont think we will see a lot of development in that area (ie magical equipment)
