Is it me or does it seem like monk feats are op in UC,take crane style, get -4 ac and block an attack(no roll) then riposte the attack all by lvl 7 and only at the cost of 1 to hit

Monks are pretty OP.

I can't tell if that comment was serious, flamebait, or the usual classic Roberta sarcasm....

I'd bet on classic Roberta tbh...

Flag and move on :-)

To the OP:
Few if any of the UC feats are specific to the monk, though many of them are much easier for the monk to qualify for than other classes. This was an intentional implementation done to address the mechanical deficiencies of the monk class.

Interesting to here someone else call that book what I do.

:)

Sure is OP to deflect one of a creature's 3+ attacks per round and then hit him back once.

Very nice pic.

Canonical ragefaces are part of what makes Pathfinder great.

I thought it was the Juju Oracles and Concept Clerics?

No, the penalty is only -2 or -1, as the feats lower the penalty.

You have to activate the feat so useless in surprise attacks (have to fight defensively, meaning you have to act before enemy before you can negate one).

thnks for the responses but actually i just noticed that to fight defensively you use a standard action and thus can only have 1 attack instead of all of them ( which balances it out)guess it pays to know all the rules. my bad

Where did you find that you can only Fight Defensively with standard actions?

Fighting Defensively as a Standard Action: You can choose to fight defensively when attacking. If you do so, you take a –4 penalty on all attacks in a round to gain a +2 to AC for the same round.

Fighting Defensively as a Full-Round Action: You can choose to fight defensively when taking a full-attack action. If you do so, you take a –4 penalty on all attacks in a round to gain a +2 dodge bonus to AC for the same round.

Scarab Sages

You can fight defensively as part of a standard or Full Attack action. It is still possible to take all of your attacks while using Crane Style and its associated feats.
Double check the rules under the Combat section if you need verification.

You can also fight defensively with full-attack actions.

Here. Scroll up a little bit, the text tends to get hidden in the fancy header. Heck with it, I'll just quote it.

What this really means is that it's AT LEAST a standard action to fight defensively. You can also do it as a full-round action. Here.

Nope, they can be a little OP on non-monks, but on monks they are meh.

They are best on an unarmed fighter, who can beat a monk into a pulp at pretty much any level.
