Angel Wing: How to get them

Advice

I want to make a character that will eventualy get feathered wings like an angel. These are the ways I've found to get them. I'm wondering if I've missed any. Looking for options from 1st party paizo products only.

Temporary Angel Wings

- Take nine levels of divine sorcerer
- Take 6 levels of alchemist and the wings discovery
- Play an aasimar, take the Angelic Blood and Angelic Wings feats, requires 10th level
- Take the Greater Eldritch Heritage feat, requires two other feats, 15 CHA and character level 11th

Angel Wings that can be used all day

- Take 20 levels of divine sorcerer
- Aquire wings of flying, 54,000gp
- A summoners 10th level aspect ability, take the wings evolution

Thanks

- Torger

be an Aasimar and take this feat at tenth?

Play a human, half elf or half orc with Racial Heritage (Aasimar).

Aasimar are not valid choices for the Racial Heritage feat, as they are not Humanoids.

Maybe you're descended from the ones with the Scion of Humanity racial archetype?

Nope. Not by RAW.

Synthesist summoner is an option

My DM has never liked the fact that Aasimar aren't humanoids. He'd probably go for that.

So that's how to get the Angel Wings Aasimar feat on other races.

Are there any other options?

Racial Heritage(Tengu) and the Tengu Wings feat.

Good catch. It's much earlier entry and would only cost two feats rather than three. Downside is they're temporary. Good option though.

You could just play a Strix.

What races are allowed?

Not actualy sure yet. I'm still in the very preliminary stages. Just trying to catalogue options at this point.

*edit* truth is I have a cool winged mini I want to use

If Strix is allowed, then that's all you need.

Wait, do you need to fly using the wings?

I'd be suprised if they will be allowed but you never know.

I'd like to fly with the wings but I suppose it's not strictly speaking nessicary.

You just want to use a mini? Can't you do that anyway regardless? Blah, ok this is just me hating minis and battlemaps leaking out again.

Anyway, if you don't need to actually fly with your wings, Tieflings can get wings from level 1 with an alternate race trait.

Grand Lodge

Well, you could just be a Tiefling, and choose the Vestigial Wings alternate racial trait.

Ninja'd.

I'm a little OCD about my minis matching the character. Little things I'll let slide but wings... not so much. It's also kind of a hobby, the painting and modding thereof.

Anyway I missed the tiefling option. thanks for pointing it out.

The Exchange

Wind Oracle with'Wings of Air' revelation:

Wings of Air (Su): As a swift action, you can manifest a pair of translucent, cloud-like wings that grant you a fly speed of 60 feet with good maneuverability. At 10th level, your speed increases to 90 feet and your maneuverability increases to perfect. You can use these wings for 1 minute per day per oracle level. This duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be spent in 1-minute increments. You must be at least 7th level to select this revelation.

I always RP that things like the fly hex for witches or the fly spell manifest incorporeal wings when you fly. Not affected like real wings, but cool looking nonetheless. Opens a few more options up.

Pretty sure the aasimar feats result in permanent wings, not temporary.

If you're using Golarion as a setting, that's a good way to find yourself rolling up another character. Strix hate Humans to the point where they go on murderous rampages, and the Humans are just happy to reciprocate.

Well, he could play a Strix-borne Aasimar.

That really isn't going to help much. As far as Humans are concerned, a strix is a strix.

Meaning he would have many of the Strix-like features(like wings), but not necessarily be easily recognized as one.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Most people outside of Cheliax wouldn't even know what a Strix IS. They're very local.

Right you are. My mistake.

There's any number of ways to get the visual effect by reskinning this power or that power but I don't want to go there until I've looked at all the options that are already avalible.
