Is there an alchemical waterproof bag?

Advice

We need to transport valuables under water, and we can't get them wet. They are too big our bag of holding, and we can't afford a portable hole. Is there an alchemical item that will accommodate us? I'm imagining giant zip-lock bags, perhaps 3-5 feet wide.

Damn, y'all are quick.

Try a Barrel. The description says it can hold up to 75 gallons of water meaning it should be water tight, so you can make the case to your GM that it should prevent water from entering the barrel as well. If he goes for that take some extra precaution and layer the inside with a couple of these just incase the barrel isn't as water tight as you hoped.

Or you could wrap the item in cloth (or many cut up Water Prof Bags) and then cover that in plaster. Repeat the previous steps until you are satisfied that you won't ruin the item while in the water.

Those are the cheapest ways I could think of to transport some valuable items through water.

I would assume that the small waterproof bags in UE are made of treated canvas or sailcloth. You could probably extrapolate the cost of a larger waterproof pouch from the cost of canvas by the square yard and get the amount you need to wrap up the items.

The barrel is a good idea too.

The duration of your trip is important here. If you have any spellcasters in your group, you can use Air Bubble, but if you're talking about an ocean here instead of just a lake or river or something, that's still a no go.

Can you give us more information (because there are no waterproof alchemical items, just the regular waterproof sacks that I presume are inadequate)?

We must go through two underwater tunnels, each less than 100 ft. Then we also have to cross a slow moving river, but I'm planning on light watercraft for that.

Unless someone blows my mind with a new idea I'm going to consider barrels. I just took a rank in craft carpentry when I leveled up too. Woo hoo!

I will read air bubble too.

so, IRL, things like gun powder were kept in powder horns, the end sealed with wax. Worked fine for being submerged in rivers and such ( I dunno about depths and pressure but less than 100ft shouldnt be a mechanical issue)

So there are really big critters you can use to hollow out their horns, another thing that was used a lot for this purpose was testicle sacs and intestine.

Again, PF has big creatures, so maybe the alchemist could whip something up with his craft alchemy skill. Depends on what level you guys are.

If these things were used in real life, they can't be that much of a stretch for fantasy.

If you are only going 100 feet, the spell will work fine. You will have to cast it twice and probably walk along the bottom. Sounds like the barrels are the best bet though.

Just a follow up in case anyone was interested.

I was on board for barrels, but in the end we did something else. My table got quite a laugh out of PDKM's idea though, and there was a Hobbit joke or two. I happen to like mundane solutions to problems. They may not be able to achieve fantastic possibilities, but in some ways are more reliable, and in many cases require more cunning. I don't like simply throwing money at problems. That is a player solution, but probably not that of a character. Our plan in the end involved Control Water and Floating Disk, among others spells and mundane pieces of equipment.

Um, a waterskin?
