My Cleric for an Evil Campagin

Advice

Ok, here's what I got. A cleric with max CHA for max # of channel energy, took Murder domain for Bleeding Touch and Daemon domain so i can have Vampiric Touch. I get an auto 18+2 for my CHA, and an auto 8 for dex. I do not know my other stats yet but they will be from 8-17(depends on tomorrow nights rolls). I plan on taking Leadership feat when able, because my back story is the character has women followers/slaves. This is my 1st spell caster so is there any thing I really need to do to make sure I am effectively using this character given the prior information? Thanks.

Also a question about clerics:
The Variant Channeling(Murder) says:
Murder: Harm—Creatures gain a bleed effect equal to your channel penalty.

I know when you go Variant you only get half of it, so example. at lvl 20 it would be 5d6 instead of 10d6. So with this VC-Murder do I get 5D6 channel damage and 10d6 bleed damage? (at lvl 20 of corse)Thanks

*bump* and a "pretty please?"

Looks correct.

No. You would have 5d6 damage and 5 bleed. From the SRD:

Quote:
Unless otherwise stated, bonuses granted by a variant channeling are sacred bonuses if you channel positive energy or profane bonuses if you channel negative energy. If an alternative channeled energy provides a “channel bonus” on rolls or statistics, the bonus is +1, increasing to +2 at cleric level 5 and for every 5 cleric levels thereafter (to a maximum of +5). Likewise, a “channel penalty” is initially –1, increasing to –2 at cleric level 5 and every 5 cleric levels thereafter (to a maximum of –5).

hmm, I don't really see the benefit. I can have either 10d6 instant damage or 5d6 instant damage plus 5d6 bleed damage. Its the same about of damage....I think??

5 bleed damage, not 5d6 bleed damage. bleed damage isn't normal damage, if you take it you take that much damage every turn until you are healed.

level 10 would be 5d6 neg energy damage and 5 bleed damage every turn until healed.

Losing 5d6 damage for a 5 point bleed is actually pretty bad. It would take 4 rounds to balance out. Generally combat is going to be over before this. It also means that weaker enemies who would otherwise die on round one now have extra time to do damage.

Yea that's exactly what I was thinking. All the Variant Channeling types are like this, seems like you lose more than you'd ever gain. Thanks for the replies!

The bleed dmg is good and bad depending. If the character is focused for PFS Play then id say don't because combat usually does not last that long. If the character is for a home-brew game then it depends on how ur DM is when it comes to dungeons. If the DM is any thing like mine then the bleed is nice because ive been in many dungeons of his were it expands the entire continent and there is not many opportunities to rest. In these cases ur x use per day abilities need to be used wisely. An aoe bleed attack is great since against multiple targets it means less resources needed to conquer the encounter especially if the monsters are fighting at there intelligence and DM is not holding back for stupid mistakes made by party members. FYI always assume the party is dumber than a sack rocks. Also since its a DOT if the enemy decides to run then it will still be taking dmg every round. Remember unless ur built for it u normally don't get to do full attacks at end game if ur DM is using tactics like cover, flight, concealment, and conditions effects such as nausea which has been used many times against me.
