So I was wanting to get a Ring of Bluffing. I have seen a Ring of Climbing/Swimming on the list, but no Bluffing. I know how to make one in normal Pathfinder. But w/out item creation feats in PFS, is it possible to get this item?

Unless you can find such a ring as a campaign-legal item in a sourcebook (or on a Chronicle, though that's pretty unlikely), sorry, there's no way to have it in PFS. There's generally no way to get a "custom" item (that is, one that isn't already listed in a rulebook) like that in the campaign.

Dark Archive 2/5

Nope, and you answered the question yourself.

Liberty's Edge 1/5

Campaign legal? It is in the PHB, it is just not on the rings table.

Liberty's Edge 1/5

I mean if a Ring of Climbing is 2,000 why wouldn't a Ring of Bluffing be 2,000?

It probably would be. Custom items are not available in pfs no matter how obvious the costing would be however.

Define "it is in the PHB"?

Unless a magic item is explicitly listed in a campaign-legal rulebook, it doesn't exist in PFS. As Pirate Rob notes, even if, logically, there *could* be a Ring of Bluffing (with the precedent of the Ring of Climbing), unless a game designer has specifically statted out such a ring, and listed it in a rulebook, sorry, you're out of luck.

Permanent magic items, such as rings, do not follow the same rules as consumables, such as potions and scrolls, which are described how to create and price with spells.

That's a good clarification, Don, thanks. :-)

Just get a Mask of Stony Demeanor in Ultimate Equipment, 500 gold +10 to bluff on lies

Liberty's Edge 1/5

I don't want it for lies I want it so that I can feint better.

Thanks for the assist Don. *cries in corner*

I know that it is not what you were asking for, but have you considered a Circlet of Persuasion? It would give you a +3 bonus on Bluff checks for 4,500gp (and on all other charisma-based skill checks, as well).

You many want to read the text from the mask, it does help on feinting as well and is severely underpriced.

Sovereign Court 5/5 5/5 ****

True, it gives the same bonus on feinting attempts as a 'Ring of Bluffing' would, for one fifth of the price...

...it has a drawback, but if all you want to use it for is feinting, that should not bother you :-)

Liberty's Edge 1/5

I do not have Ultimate Equipment, must find one.

Mask of Stony Demeanor

Slot head; Price 500 gp; Weight 4 lbs.
When worn, this mask transforms the wearer's face into a stone statue and its voice into an emotionless monotone. Though it allows the wearer to speak, its facial expressions and voice betray little emotion, granting a +10 competence bonus on Bluff checks made to lie and a +5 competence bonus on Bluff checks made to feint, but also imposes a –5 penalty on Bluff checks made to pass a hidden message.

Ooo, really? So I can purchase a potion of Vanish brewed by a 5th-level caster for 250gp and save myself the 50gp that I would have spent on a potion of Invisibility that costs 300gp?

I generally use them in combat for sneak attack positioning so I don't need the 3min duration, but 1rd for a 1st-level Vanish potion wasn't cutting it, either.

No, you can't do that. He didn't say you could get any old potion you wanted, he meant that a potion doesn't have to be individually listed in a book on some magic item list in order to be bought, the way a wondrous item or ring or whatever needs to be. You're still restricted to minimum CL on potions, oils and wands.

Only if you find one on a chronicle sheet.

The Guide states the following on page 25:

Quote:
All potions, scrolls, and wands are available only at the minimum caster level unless found at a higher caster level on a Chronicle sheet.

Ah. Ok.

Dark Archive 4/5

I wouldn't feel right using that mask. It seems way too powerful for the price.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Surely that Mask is too good to be true... any NPC worth his salt would say "Um take off that weird mask and say that again, something seems fishy here"... but +5 to feint for 500 gp seems an easy decision... as Adam suggests above, I'd take the damn thing off in social situations because it would seem "fishy"

Grand Lodge 4/5

Wow, that stony demeanor mask is ridiculously underpriced. Did someone miss out a zero?
