Eleven oracale favored class bonus?

Rules Questions

so the elven favored class bonus is

Add +1/2 to the oracle's level for the purpose of determining the effects of one revelation

would this aply to the nature mytery bonded mount revelation?, efectivly raising the above the char level?

Congratulations you found unexpected loophole in the rules!

While by RAW it could work I doubt it was the designers intent - it would complicate things a bit allowing for a 15th level mount (12 HD) for a 10th level character. The major problem, however, would be after the increased companion level would reach 21+ because there are no rules for animal companions of so high level. The further number progression could be extrapolated from existing levels.

Yes, if you chose that as the revelation that gets raised. Also fun is the Ancestor revelation that raises your BAB to your Oracle level.

That's and interesting question! I'm fairly certain that a ruling would say no, but it does look like RAW would give a 10th level character a 15th level pet.

Yep, BAB bonus of 18 at level 12 would be fun. Put the martial classes in their place.

It would be stronger than expected but 10th level Fighter, Barbarian or Ranger should be stronger still and not overshadowed by 12 HD mount.

it is limited to a horse or a cammel, cause it is a elven favored class bonus.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Ifrits and Aasimar have the same thing.

Aasimar with the Scion of Humanity alternate racial trait, Racial Heritage(Orc), Celestial Servant, and Beast Rider feats could have a Celestial elephant, pteranodon, rhinoceros, stegosaurus, or triceratops.

Battle oracle would also be really strong. You could be amazing at combat manuevers.

Yeah, you might actually be able to succeed 1/3 of the time against high level enemies! That's awes--er, oh right, CMD scales totally out of control, so maneuvers are pretty much pointless by the final third of the game.

It really depends of what maneuvers you are talking about, for weapon based maneuvers your statatement is untrue. It should not be that hard to build a Pc (nnot necesary an oracle) who do not need more than 8 to succed against most enemies.

I completely disagree. What you need to remember is that combat manuevers are attack rolls. Anything that boosts an attack roll boosts a combat manuever. Things like Divine Power, weapon enhancement bonus and Haste all increase it.

If you want a counterexample, with buffs my level 17 antipaladin has a CMB of 52 for grapples(hamatula strike focused). If I can use Smite Good, I go up to 58. I literally can't fail against anything CR 17 or 18. I can succeed pretty consistently on many CR 20 monsters as well.

Can you choose a Revelation you do not have yet?

You know, like the ones you cannot select until later levels.

There is nothing in the rules that stops you.

I like the idea of a level 10 life oracle channeling like a level 15 cleric.
Or the lore oracle getting additional points of intelligence.
