Familiar Companion to Witch

Rules Questions

Here's the quable: I was trying to select a familiar to my Witch. The thing is that i wanted a snake familiar. But a snake (viper) familiar has size Tiny. But for one scary Witch there is no fun to have such small snake (hum... that sounds so wrong...anyway...). So what to do? Try to turn the familiar into an Animal Companion(or, try to have the animal working as both). That way the viper could be bigger and scarier... But i want a legal solution without resorting to dips. Maybe a feat or something like that. Does anybody have a suggestion how we could do this?

Please!!Help a Witch have fun with his snake!!

Thanks

if it isn't pfs, ask if you could reflavor it with your gm.

Yeah, i guess it's the best solution. I didn't see nowhere mentioned that there is a feat that could do the trick...

Or just take the Improved Familiar feat and choose the Imp or Homonculus.
Imp's have a natural shapechange ability and can easily take the shape of a small (or larger with beast shape I) serpent as you desire.

A homunculus is crafted by the creator to look like anything they desire. If you want a small or medium sized serpent it only costs a small amount of cash to have it made.

You could cast "enlarge person" on your familiar due to the "share spells" ability, despite it not normally being a valid target.

Most familiars are size Tiny. You can cast Enlarge Person on your familiar to make it temporarily Small. If you take the Animals patron, you gain access to such spells as Animal Growth and Beast Shape IV, which let you make your familiar much tougher.

There are two feats that improve your familiar, Improved Familiar and Evolved Familiar.

Because of the Share Spells ability, there are also a number of spells you can cast on your familiar. This includes spells like Enlarge Person, Alter Self, and lots more if you choose the Strength or Transformation patrons.

You can also cast touch spells via your familiar, which I think is especially appropriate with the spell Bestow Curse! This is a particularly nice mode of operation for a witch vs. any other class that gets familiars, because the touch spell your familiar is holding wear off when you cast a spell. Any other character with a familiar is going to be a spellcaster who's rather useless without casting - but a witch can still use hexes. This frees you to cast your best available touch spell onto your familiar and leave it there, ready for the next battle.

By combining these elements, you should be able to do some pretty interesting things with your witch's familiar.

Share Spells: The wizard may cast a spell with a target of “You” on his familiar (as a touch spell) instead of on himself. A wizard may cast spells on his familiar even if the spells do not normally affect creatures of the familiar's type (magical beast).

Strength Patron: 2nd—divine favor, 4th—bull’s strength, 6th— greater magic weapon, 8th—divine power, 10th—righteous might, 12th—mass bull’s strength, 14th—giant form I, 16th—giant form II, 18th—shapechange.

Transformation Patron: 2nd—jump, 4th—bear’s endurance, 6th—beast shape I, 8th—beast shape II, 10th—beast shape III, 12th—form of the dragon I, 14th—form of the dragon II, 16th—form of the dragon III, 18th—shapechange.

I think that the shared spells are the best way to make this "impressive" approach to my Witch's familiar. I'll take that route while there isn't a "Familiar Companion" feat. I'll use Enlarge and maybe change to the Transformation Patron as Blueluck suggested. The Improved Familiar as Imp sounds cool too if i change the character background a little...

Thank you for all the answers.

I like the idea of casting Form of the Dragon in a tiny snake:)
