While cruising the SRD last night, I noticed the Amiri, the Iconic Barbarian box on the Barbarian class page. Intrigued, I had a look at her stats, and was confused by what I saw.
She starts out with a STR of 18 (non-raging), which makes sense; the Iconic Characters are all created with the "High Fantasy" 20-point assignment method. By level twelve, though, this has escalated to a whopping 24 STR (again while not in rage mode, which brings it to 30). This makes no sense to me; as I understand it, a character gets to increase one ability score by one point (+1) at the 4th, 8th, 12th, 16th and 20th character levels. This would mean that if every one of those increases was dropped on STR, Amiri would only make it to 23 STR by the 20th level.
So, what am I missing here? Is there more than a single-point increase for High Fantasy characters, or maybe some funky stacking going on that I don't know about? I want to make sure I don't miss out on points as I level up, since we all know how far a well-placed +1 can go.

Also remember that the 12th level build is NOT necessarily a leveled up version of the 7th level build, which is also not always a leveled up version of the 1st level build.
They were built at that level for that level, and are not really progressive builds.
1st level stats:
Str 18, Dex 13, Con 14, Int 10, Wis 12, Cha 10
7th level stats:
Str 20, Dex 14, Con 14, Int 10, Wis 12, Cha 10
+1 stat point (Dex), Belt of Giant Strength +2
12th level stats:
Str 24, Dex 14, Con 18, Int 10, Wis 12, Cha 10
+1 stat point (Dex), +2 stat points (Str), belt of physical might +4 (Str, Con)
Amazingly smooth progression. Amusing that the stat point got added to Dex first, but it does provide the greatest benefit at 4th.
