So we are starting up a new campaign this sat. and I have been kicking around the idea of a small race(Halfling or Goblin) Druid pack lord . The idea is to have a Roc as a flying mount at 1st level and then add a ground mount/melee Animal Companion at 2nd level .
Using Boon Companion on them both to keep their levels near mine . We never seem to keep a campaign going past 12 th level or so . Anytime we will be doing something where the Roc can't go I will just release him and get a good melee companion and gound mount like a wolf or boar .
I really like the idea of having a mount and melee companion. What I'm looking for here is other great ideas both fluff and crunch to help me flesh out my idea .
My first 3 feats will be
1)Mounted Combat
3)Boon companion
5)boon companion
thanks for any help/ideas
P.S. not looking for a full build here just fun cool ideas.

Is there a problem if you take one level dip into another class that offers a mount or druid-animal equivalent? I.e. the cavalier or its Beast Rider archetype? Would it impact your mount level, using the PackLord's ability? (It seems like you can, but I'm not a rules expert)
I'm imagining Joust (the game), with your gnome charging in with a Roc and a lance. Do you ever want to wildshape, or do you intend to be mostly a mounted fighter, surrounded by melee minions?

Animal Companion (Ex): You gain an animal companion. Your effective druid level for this ability is equal to your sorcerer level – 3 (minimum 1st). This bloodline power counts as your bloodline arcana and also replaces laughing touch.
Benefit: Select one sorcerer bloodline. You must have Skill focus in the class skill that bloodline grants to a sorcerer at 1st level (for example, Heal for the celestial bloodline). This bloodline cannot be a bloodline you already have. You gain the first-level bloodline power for the selected bloodline. For purposes of using that power, treat your sorcerer level as equal to your character level – 2, even if you have levels in sorcerer. You do not gain any of the other bloodline abilities.
pure RAW i see no problem, it is a bloodline power you get at first level.
As always ask you DM/group if it would be alowed.

Can you really combine something like PackLord with Boar Shaman?

Well, here's the RAW issue...
Both Archetypes modify the same class ability, Nature Bond.
Granted, the modification of one totally fits with the other...but I could see a very RAW'y GM saying, "Nope, these two archetypes don't stack, sorry."

By R.A.W.? No. By R.A.I.? Maybe.
I personally allow Archetypes if they only Modify the Ability and don't completely rename the ability. And they don't change the same Aspect of the ability. Meaning if both limit your choices they aren't allowed but if one limits them and the other grants you an additional one you are fine.
