Resurrection and Remove Curse

So, I was playing in my home game recently and my monk had been suffering from a curse. Then on top of that, he went and got killed by the BBEG. The party eventually defeated the BBEG, and afterwards was given a wish as their reward for defeating the BBEG, and asked to get resurrection cast on my monk. Would the spell remove the curse, or would it still apply? Here is the text that I think may be relevant:

Or is that not really relevant and the curse still remains, on top of the negative level?

An interesting question. You could argue that curses would go away upon death just like diseases and poisons would. You could also argue that the "full hit points, vigor, and health" would cover curses as well as any other negative situation.

I can't find any specific evidence to suggest either way. Curses can usually only be removed by Remove Curse, Wish, Limited Wish, Miracle, or Break Enchantment. Seems like a GM's call to me.

Personally; I'd let it clear out the curse.

Personally, I've always imagined curses to be something attached to the soul or spirit, not just to the physical form (although they can have physical manifestations). Curses, in my opinion, are something far more sinister than regular ailments.

I find the point supported by the fact that Bestow Curse has a very clear list of remedies.

Also, I am totally "The floor is lava's" GM! Muhahahaha!

I do agree that it is a bit vague, a little more input and opinions would be nice. Although for the sake of the game I think I would let the resurrection get rid of the curse. There's been three failed attempts to remove it already and I don't want it to be a drag!

I should also mention that one of those three attempts was performed by a night hag his party struck a deal with! You don't want to know what she wanted in exchange...

As long as we're talking curses and death, here's a situation from my group's last session: I bestow-cursed a mysteriously-back-from-the-dead drow we'd killed previously, and upon 'dying' again her head exploded to reveal that her body had been taken over by an Intellect Devourer.

Should the Devourer still have the curse I put on 'her'?
