Half-orc Alchemist bent on becoming the 'perfect' being

Advice

He would be obsessed with improving his body. We're starting at level 1, once we hit level 2 I was going to pick up tumor familiar and have that be the start of his obsession, picking up either Vestigial arms and tentacle over the next few levels and finally wings. Taking Extra Discovery for feats in order to achieve this image sooner.

Level 1 I planned on taking two weapon fighting, Though I'm having a hard time thinking of what the man who believes his body to be the next step in evolution would use as a weapon other then his own body. Any suggestions for weapons/ Class features to really flesh this guy out? Suggested Extracts are welcome, not necessarily for min/maxing needs, but for flavor too. I was considering taking the Beastmorph archetype.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I don't really have a suggestion for you, as far as mechanics go.

But I do urge you to think about what this guy would actually look like.

Vestigial Arms? Tentacles? Tumor Familiar (Okay you may not see this one all the time)?

Not my idea of the perfect being, more like something only a mother like Lamashtu could love.

Of course I'm sure it all works out better mechanically. And for some reason chain shirts and whatnot will be able to accommodate all your... unique features.

Must be Half-Orc?

What books are allowed?

What races are allowed?

I favorited sumbeam's quote. For flavor maybe he warships Lamashtu, or really likes aborations. Natuaral attacks aren't as feat-heavy for the build, you could take feral mutagen for 3 of them at 1st level. When not hulked-out on mutagen, you could gain a bite attack from orc trait.

*feral mutagen at 2nd level with discovery (edit)

The "Perfect" being?

Man, you really need to look at these Discoveries:

Spontaneous Healing
Lingering Spirit
Preserve Organs
Mummification

So, Lamashtu's perfect monstrous being, not Irori's perfect being?

The half orc is most just because the other two players playing are also half orc and I figured it would be cool to be a band of half orcs. Yes his idea of the 'perfect being' is severely twisted definitely along Lamashtu's idea of a perfect being, that's one of the reasons I think he'll be so fun to play. We have Core, APG, UM, and UC books and are all allowed.

After reading last night it seems that I would be able to use my extra hands for two handed weapons, I could actually dual wield two handers, but it feels...not right in my mind.

I've eyeballed those discoveries Lamontius, I just don't know when an ideal time to take them would be, but they would surely be right at home on this character.

How about Tiefling? They can be born of Half-Orcs, or any other humanoid race.

They also do not really display fiendish qualities until puberty, so you could have spent your childhood living around Half-Orcs.

Seeing the change at puberty may have inspired your quest.
Believing you are destined to become the perfect being and the change was a blessing from Lamashtu(or another god).

Ah, he is going with the "mad scientist" version of perfect being. Well, see if you can take barbarian and rage out too since that is always the end result. Seriously though, he means 'perfect killing machine' rather than what a good aligned cleric or monk would call a 'perfect' being.

Maybe try to get the master chemyst Prestige class. It lets you mutate at will a few times per day, and it gives you unique mutations.

Might I suggest: maybe take vivisectionist? It is good for the flavor, playing with nature to make horrible monstrosities, and if you take it with the feral mutagen, you will have a very deadly attack. The feral mutagen is also good for your concept: "What, you mean I can't tear people apart with my bare hands? UNACCEPTABLE! I must give myself bear hands immediately to solve this problem."

I play my Alchemist in a pretty hardcore combat-focused game and I can tell you that having Spontaneous Healing and Lingering Spirit as soon as possible are pretty much lifesavers. These two will help keep you alive early on that you can actually live to level and get more feats.

Then again, I play a Mr. Hyde Vivisectionist who is more focused on over-the-top killing and staying alive than obtaining an ideal physical form.

Well then you should just permanently polymorph yourself into a gnome. that's the best you're going to get

Have you considered taking the Eldritch Heritage line of feats with Orc Bloodline? The level 9 and 15 bloodline powers are physical improvements, and go well with the whole half-orc improving himself theme.
