The Top 64

Silver Crusade RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16 , Dedicated Voter Season 6, Marathon Voter Season 7, Marathon Voter Season 8, Marathon Voter Season 9 aka Zahir ibn Mahmoud ibn Jothan

Hey now, since there will be a for real Top 64, will they get a cool tag in their title that labels them as RPGSS 2013 Top 64?

Why? The 33rd-64th didn't make the cut. That is the same as poor Garrett not getting a tag for dropping out or the alternates from previous years not getting a tag either.

I can see where you are coming from, but I think I have to agree with Thomas.

Making the Top 32 means you impressed the judges enough to make the cut - that is what I am striving towards, it will be for me a badge of honor.

Although there will be 64 items put in front of the judges, they will be the arbiters of what is deemed worthy to go on. The public voting is nice, making the top 64 would be awesome but in reality, its a clever way of putting a filter over the huge number of submissions to feed the judges with items that are deemed worthy for consideration going forwards.

In this way, I think the likely result will be more in-depth review of the top 64 items from the judges than they could possibly do in prior years. They will be able to look at price, they will be able to read past clunky phraseology and see the thoughts and designs behind the items. They will be able to say "ah man, you didn't quite make top 32 because of x, y, z rather than just short "rejected."

So Top 32 is the target banner for me and rightly so. (ok, ok, I'm aiming for the 2013 winners battle like every entrant, but if I only make top 32, I will be very pleased indeed).

Well, if sheer effort, persistence, and dedication to this contest counted for anything, Anthony, you'd be a shoo-in. I don't think anybody out there has dedicated more character count to discussion, debate, and analysis of the Superstar process than you (with the possible exception of the Spicer Machine).

Good luck and good inspiration to you!

Kind words indeed, thanks Nazard.

Personally, I don't think I've done much more than most entrants. We have all read the forums, looked at the previous years, listened to the judges.

All I've really done is been brave, put myself out there and publicly ask the daft questions, provide my personal reviews and feedback and sharing my understanding. If any of that helps others improve and grow, then so much better for the game itself.

And provided a template analysis more detailed than most communist manifestos...just saying.

To be fair, dropouts don't get diplomas. :D

It would be nice if the People's Choices get some public recognition, though, even if it's not a forums tag.

The statement about the judges selecting 32 of the Top 64 was an error, and has been removed. The judges will go from the highest-ranked entry down until they have 32 solid entries. If it takes more or less than the top 64 entries to do that, so be it.

Gotcha so if there is way too much op cheese at the top then realistic game balanced entries still have a shot... Excellent.
