Sorcerer words of power build

Advice

I want to make a guy that uses words of power and is charisma based and sorcerer seems the obvious choice.

I want to make a blaster and tank if possible, blaster would be my first preference. I will be at level 7 and want to be effective at that level. I plan to read the guides over next few days but I know there are many folks far more knowledgeable than me.

Thanks,
odd

I did some research and am currently leaning towards a half-orc with mix of orc and Dragon (fire subtype) for maximum blasting power.

I could still use some help with feats (I was thinking blessing of the fire god so I can heal myself some) and word mixes.

Anyone else have other suggestions?

I have made a rough outline of my guy

I am still debating feats. I like the orc Blessing of the Fire God, but I don't know if I qualify for it or not based on the subtype of orc. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I also am going with a Giant Mantis for my pet.

WoP is great for blast versatility, at the cost of power. No spell spec, preferred spell, etc; just the ability to chose the blast shape on the fly. If you're sticking with sorc instead of dipping and going evoker wiz, magus or oracle for the rest, the blast shape freedom could be worth it.

It's possible to read the human favored class bonus as giving you an extra spell known, even as a word caster, making it a tempting choice to pick up spells not covered by words.

The only way I can think to blaster and tank as a sorceror would be to take a hit to damage and crossblood with Sylvan (if GM allows, some don't like cross+wild together), taking the boon companion feat. Animal companions shine at low pointbuy/magic, but can be marginalized if it's a high power game instead.

You could look for a conversion of the 3.5 warmage, an armored spontaneous evoker.
