Hierophant: Sustained by Faith - too good to pass up?

Player Feedback

So, reading through most of the Archmage and Hierophant abilities gave cause for some eyebrow raising... Then a sigh of relief as I saw things like "Must be mythic tier 5 or above" on it.

Sustained by Faith, as I read it, essentially lets you prepare spells twice a day. Am I maybe reading this wrong??

Quote:

Sustained by Faith (Su): If you spend at least 1 hour of

prayer or meditation you require no food, water, or sleep
for 24 hours. This time can be the same time you use to
prepare spells. You must still rest 8 hours to regain spells
but you are not subject to fatigue or exhaustion due to a
lack of sleep. Additionally, once per day you may expend
one use of mythic power as a full-round action to refresh
yourself as if you had rested for 8 hours for the purposes
of regaining spells
and healing heal hit point and ability
damage.

Is that what it lets you do, or is it still bound by the "you can only prepare spells once a day" rule.

Or does it only give you the ability to rest as a full round action when needed? Which.. seems entirely lackluster.

You still have to pray/concentrate for 1 hour. And every character still gets recuperation at tier 3, so is not that mandatory. It may seems so because at the moment there are few good choice for 10 tier, but as new ability comes up this will be passed on by everyone.

Certainly looks to me like it allows you to refresh your spell slots once per day. You'll still need the prep / meditation time, but it seems like it would allow a caster a great deal more throughput, as long as they can spend that hour to prepare mid-day.

I somehow missed the Recuperation ability entirely. I guess Sustained by Faith just gives you early access to the ability... Which doesn't seem as broken to me now.

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but don't divine casters have to choose a time of day at which they must pray? It wouldn't matter if you rest twice a day when you only have one window a day you can pray. This still smells of abuse potential, regardless.

Mythic divine caster do not pray entities anymore, they are vessels in themself, so while they still need to "pray" for one hour for mechanical purpouse, they do not have a set time given by their deities anymore.

Seems to me y'll are missing the point of the op

"Additionally, once per day you may expend

In other words.. I pray at the beginning of a day. I gain spells. Later I want more spells.

It says I must rest 8 hours to regain spells. But I can do that as a full round action.

Whatever interpretation we want to run with now, I think he's right and it shoudl be cleared up for clarity.
