Ok so, a few questions:
-I don't have a webcam for skype, is that ok? (probably)

-Under the Duelist prestige class--
'Parry' At 2nd level, a duelist... blah blah blah... Whenever the Duelist takes a full attack action with a light or one-handed piercing weapon, she can elect not to take one of her attacks. Blah Blah Blah...
ok, 2 things:
1: when it says 'with a light or one-handed melee weapon' does that mean if I'm only using 1 weapon, or does it apply if I am two weapon fighting?
2: 'she can elect not to take one of her attacks' can I use more than one of my attacks in this way? like if i have 3 attacks, I can forgo all of them to attempt to parry 3 times? but get no attack? or just the one attack?

-If i were to roll for stats,
1: Would you want to watch?
2: If I didn't like then could I use the point buy?

We will not be using webcams (no need to see people), we will be using headsets and while you can make due without a headset it really is helpful to have one.

While Parry does not specifically require your offhand to be empty (no weapon or shield) most of the other Duelist abilities do. A slightly liberal interpretation of Parry follows this as well.

I have no problem with you forgoing all of your attacks. BUT I will require that at the time you forgo all of your attacks you declare if you are using fighting defensively or not. Note: this is bordering on house rule as a strict interpretation would be 1 parry per round.

You are not rolling. If you read my guide I indicate we are doing a 25 point buy. Here is the link to the post

- Gauss

P.S. This is Tinkerer (Tink) on Roll20, he(?) is applying for the 5th slot. I am still taking other applications.

I have a mic so that wont be a problem.

Ok, that's pretty much what i figured.

I would defiantly tell you of all my actions xD

Sorry I didn't see the 'no rolling' thing in your post.

Yes, I am a 'He'

Current players/characters:

Khantin: Human Ranger (Urban)
Down Comforter: Tiefling Cleric (Fiendish Vessel)
Crypteck: Human Ninja
Mr. Swagger: Orc Witch (maybe Scarred Witch Doctor)

- Gauss

Tinkerer: We have been having bad luck with people and their mics (echo etc.). If you are accepted and your mic becomes a problem I would prefer you get a headset.

Edit: The current 4 players have been playing together in a monday campaign for about a month. This is why we seem familiar with each other. The statement about telling me actions is to TYPE the actions rather than speaking them. If you speak them I could miss it. I do not miss text.

- Gauss

it won't be a problem, i have headphones i put on, so you won't hear yourselves say what you just said again xD But, if it becomes a problem, that's fine by me, I'll get a headset ^_^

Oh, and I'm going to be a two-weapon fighter I've decided, still deciding on Half-Elf/Human but I'll give you all the details when I'm done.

What about Hero Points? I didn't see anything about them anywhere, or did I just miss it? xD

I am not using them. I debated it and decided against it.

Tinkerer:

1) Are you taking any alternate half elven abilities or fighter archetypes?

2) You cannot benefit from both Reactionary and Elven Reflexes at the same time. They are both trait bonuses to initiative (ie: only one applies).

3) What did you spend your favored class point on?

Edit: are you still planning on going Duelist? I suggest that you approve with me (in advance) any prestige classes or odd abilities so you do not get blindsided if I say no to them later.

Aril's backstory

:

Aril has always been quick. Even at a young age he has been able to react to danger within a blink of an eye. Ever since he was very young, he has been facinated by swordplay. At the age of 10 he witnessed a duel between his adopted father and another man. The duel ended with both men dead, but the death of his adopted father did not concern Aril, he felt nothing for the decessed, for he was mesmerized by the whirling steel and agile moves of the fight. He longed for it.
He ran up to the bloodied bodies of both men and took his father's rapier. He quickly left the scene behind him, along with the rest of his family, he did not care for them, only for the new life he has seen for himself.
The four years after his father's death Aril spent training himself with the rapier. Using his speed, he was able to scratch by, stealing food and water when he needed to. One day he was spotted training by a man named Hroar, who took interest. He offered Aril proper training with him. Aril excepted.
Three years later, Aril has become very good with swords. Aril would get lost in a fight, almost in a trance. He would often get carried away and severly injure his fellow students. He didn't care, all he could remember was the dance of blades from his childhood, the beauty of that steel whirlwind, of the sparks the flew from the blades and the clashed together, and of the eventual death. Aril was growing tired of the safety that the school strictly adheired to. He wanted to see death, like when he was a child. And he knew he wasn't going to see it here. Hroar didn't like the man Aril became. Hroar believed Aril took too much joy in the fight, and wanted to stop him, make sure he was a good man before setting off into the world. When Hroar tried to stop him, Aril killed Hroar.
Since then, Aril has been on the run from the vengful students. His flight eventually led him to Talingarde, where the students followed him. The students requested a duel, a one-on-one fight with the most skilled of the students to finish it. If Aril won: they wouldn't persue him anymore, if he lost: the students would have their revenge. Aril was tired of running and knew he couldn't take them all on at once. He excepted. Unfortunatly little did Aril know, duels to the death were not permitted in Talingarde. The students set a trap for Aril: Either Aril would lose, and die on the sopt, or he would win, and they would alert the gaurd of this heinous crime.
Now Aril sits in prison, awaiting his death. The Executioner's axe was not the blade he thought would be his end.

M Human Expert 3

So I'm free most of Sunday if that works as a time to set up tokens, journal, etc.

Down Comforter, I have already assigned you (if you are Josh) a journal. Feel free to modify it.

As for sunday I cannot do that. I GM on sundays.

- Gauss

I am off all next week. I will plan the character during that week to see how the orc and non-orc versions will look. I will get back with you about an appointment after I choose the version I will use.

Ok, if you log in to the game I can start assigning things to you as well (such as your character sheet).

- Gauss

What's the link to join your campaign? I haven't been able to find it =(

10 Board Lurker/10 Nice Guy/

I just logged in.

link to the game

LOL wow I'm blind, I didn't see the "join game" button xD herpa derp ty ^_^

Swagger and Tinkerer, I have given you both access to your journals. You should be able to update them now.

- Gauss

I still have not heard back if people are ok playing December 26th and January 2nd. If you are not and we cannot find an alternate day to play those weeks I may wait until after new years to start the game.

- Gauss

M Human Expert 3

I can do the 2nd, but not the 26th.

Ok, Im willing to do a 1week break, that isnt too much of a problem. Also, DC if you have an alternate day that week you are fine with (like the 27th) we could do that too.

Anyone else?

- Gauss

I am available pretty much any time from the 25th to the 1st if we are doing a make up game. The 2nd of January works for me too (assuming the world has not ended).

Ok, that is 2 people who say January 2nd is ok.

I need 3 more people to agree to that.

I can also do the 2nd, but not the 26th...As of now any other day after the 26th should be ok.

I should also be posting my witch tomorrow, the mechanics anyway. The backstory should come a day or two later.

Now I just need to hear from Cypteck and Tinkerer regarding the 2nd.

- Gauss

M Human Expert 3

So Mr. Swagger, I've never looked at the Scarred Witch Doctor. Are you looking to be in melee for the most part?

One player has asked to play a third party variation of a PF class. After checking the power levels I have said yes. If anyone else has some pet class that they have always wanted to play AND it is a publication I can easily acquire (read: does not cost me money) then I may consider it. The default answer is still no.

- Gauss

10 Board Lurker/10 Nice Guy/

No I will not be in melee DC, if I can help it. Due to the hexes I will be in charging distance though, but hopefully I can make keep charges from taking place. I don't intend to ever be in melee with a low BAB character.

MUAHAHAH!!!

Errr...yeah, an arcane spellcaster in melee. Wont, Ever, Happen. :D

- Gauss

P.S. Dont mind me, Im just happy I got my computer working today. New Power Supply. :)

M Human Expert 3

You never know :P
In that case, I've rolled up a barbarian-type character, given that having some form of meat-shield might be useful. More useful than the "heals for 1d4" cleric I have. Thoughts?

And isn't the Magus an arcane caster in melee? :D

Yeah yeah, fine, use logic, see if I care!

You cannot ruin my day, I have my computer back. :D

Brand new Seasonic X750 (normally 190, got it for 100).

- Gauss

Character Icon: http://home.eyesonff.com/site_content/images/ff1/characters/ninja.gif

2nd of January works for me.

As for the character's history, I'll keep it short and sweet. He was a gift given to the temple of Asmodeus by his parents to be trained and used towards any purpose the church deemed worthy. On the day the temple was sacked he was stolen away by an Assassin of Asmodeus who taught him how to live in the shadows. Since then this Assassin father-figure has been found and executed publicly. Shortly thereafter my character found himself in jail for murder.

Traits: I'ma keep Demon Hunter and Child of the Temple. They both fit what little story I do have to support the character.

Anything else?

10 Board Lurker/10 Nice Guy/

I mean I will not be in melee if I can help it. :)

I will be using the form fillable character sheets from my end. I will save it to my mediafire account, and post a link here.

PS:The character will have a name soon.

To everyone:

Please email me the link, or the character sheet, to your final version. Also include the token you plan on using for that character. If your token is on Roll20 the token name should be sufficient for me to find it for you. Finally, include your storyline.

I want this all in one email please. This way I have it in one ready source.

Assuming no objections we will begin next Wednesday, December 5th.

I have assigned to each of you a Character profile. Please write whatever you wish there. If you have a link to your PDF please place the link in that profile. If you wish, I will host your character sheet on my mediafire account and I will link it for you.

Crunch time folks, lets finish getting ready.

- Gauss

Crypteck: You may take Demon Hunter if you wish but I am warning you now it will probably go unused.

- Gauss

Thanks for the warning. I like the way the trait ties in with the Servant of Asmodeus concept. Though he has no problem killing people, Kovu would rather use legitimate means to establish control. And since he is more concerned with achieving a good standing with the Arch-Devil, being prepared to deal with Demons kinda reinforces the concept. It's a shame I can't use the Celestial equivalent, but if we're gonna be picking up free extra abilities that might stack with it or something, I can understand your concern.

Basically, since I can't burgeon actual mechanical ability I'll take it to underline the character's overall objective.

I had forgotten about the icon/token...I will go ahead and look for that now...

M Human Expert 3

So here's the deal folks. Would the presence of Barbarian (focused on taking and dealing as much damage as possible) be more or less useful to the party than my cleric based around spellcasting and channel energy to harm and heal?

10 Board Lurker/10 Nice Guy/

DC what is everyone else playing. If we have no true front liner I vote for the barbarian, but if we do have one I will most likely vote for the cleric. A well played cleric can be versatile..

Swagger is a primary arcane spellcaster
Tinkerer is going for a Fighter TWF build. He doesnt have a lot in the way of Con though.
Crypteck is going for a Ninja.
Khantin is going for a switch hitting Ranger.

DC, while there is no single big damage sink it does seem like you have plenty of the martial bases covered.

- Gauss

M Human Expert 3

Alright, I'll go with my cleric. I'll send my sheet and token to you Gauss.

10 Board Lurker/10 Nice Guy/

I sent the character sheet and token..

HI, sorry have been busy for a while. BUT I'm ok now, I'll be there on the 5th, and get the rest of my character ready.

I have sent everyone a message on Paizo regarding your characters.

I still have not received an email from Khantin and Crypteck with your character sheets.

Assuming no objections we will begin at 830 Eastern (-5:00GMT) on Wednesday and we will play for about 4hours.

Tinkerer, we use skype for voice chat.

- Gauss

@Khantin
If you still wanted to do a shared backstory, Cain's is that he tried to stage a takeover by having certain key political and religious figures. Obviously, he failed, but some of his opponents were killed. It alright if you're one of my conspirators/hired hands?

It appears that my desire to have a character sheet I can understand at a glance (ie: the fillable sheet) is a problem for some. If anyone would prefer to use the Myth-Weavers character sheet they may.

- Gauss

Yep. Here is the back story.

Zomert Gamil was born into a wealthy merchant family, but raised as an urchin among strangers. Before the House Darius took power, slave-taking and trading was commonplace and lucrative, but the rise of the House Darius caused the fall of the House Gamil. His family's prosperity went against the misplaced morales of the Great House Darius and their fanatical obeisance of their god Mitra, and so they were exterminated. Zomert lived only because the judged him too young to have willingly lived a life of crime and sin.

Talingarde changed then. It went from a nation where the strong and the cunning rose to power through their talents, to one where the weak held dominion by banding together and forcing others down to their level in the name of the Law, or in the name of their king, or in the name of their God. But Zomert remembers a better time. If his ancestors were capable of being wealthy and influential, then he was capable of becoming rich and powerful. He just needed a fair shot at it. He needed the old Talingarde.

Zomert's trip to Branderscar prison began with the chance encounter of his old church deacon from when he was a child. As soon as Zomert recognized the old man, he knew he had found a like-minded survivor that he could use to bring some semblance of sanity back to Talingarde. From there he met Cain Nae'blis, one of the favored of Asmodeus. Zomert knew that working with these two could bring his ambitious dreams closer to reality.

At first Zomerts involvement was simple. Deliver a message here, steal a collection box from Mitra there. But his involvement grew, soon he was sabotaging protective summoning circles of court wizards, and digging up the dead for dark uses. On his last mission, Zomert was supposed to quietly capture a Talingarde soldier and take him to a forested hill overlooking a highway, where he would attempt to assassinate a visiting dignitary that was passing through. Undoubtedly his guards would feather the Talingarde soldier and Zomert would make his escape. The resulting diplomatic fallout would weaken House Darius and the church of Mitra, allowing Asmodeus' influence to slip in and start growing again.

But on that fateful night, where a dozen schemes would come to fruition, the deacon was captured and slain and the conspiracy shattered. Zomert waited on the hill with the gagged soldier bound and propped up like a doll, and instead of finding the dignitary strolling along the highway, he instead found two dozen soldiers coming at him from every direction. They clapped him in irons and declared him a traitor then shipped him off to Branderscar.
