Scrolls & Wands: What to Buy / Craft?

Advice

Hello again, fellow Pathfinders!

So, as I start a new campaign (and resume another one that had been in hiatus for a while), I decided I'd invest more in wands/scrolls this time.

That said, the obvious question came to mind... Which spells make good scrolls, and which are better taken as wands.

There are always the obvious wand of CLW and wand of Lesser Restorarion. Maybe one or 2 scrolls of Ressurection at higher levels.

I'm aware that wand/scroll selection changes depending on your party's casters, but what I'm asking is more of a general list. One that is universally useful (like those wands of CLW).

So tell me, what scrolls and wands do you guys usually buy? What about potions?

My wizard loves his wand of fireball. Although its only CL3, it makes for a nice "pocket boomstick" Beyond that its the needs of the party. CLW is obvious. No cleric? Consider a CMW. Got a cleric? Put the money elsewhere.

Scrolls are more difficult. I tend to make scrolls of the spells that I only use rarely but *really* need when I do. Knock for example. I am also the guy that carries all the scrolls we find in the campaign. More often than not one of my own spells works better 90% of the time, and I just use the scroll to add it to my book.

One scroll I think I want to have a few of though is dispel or greater dispel magic. Lots of uses for that, I stopped a Black Tentacle spell from messing up our whole party last combat by having it as a prepared spell. That would not be a bad one to make a wand of! HA!

Jeez thats kind of a loaded question...almost any spell makes for a good Scroll, but I guess I can give you the 5 spells I try and make sure I have atleast 3 scrolls of.

Burning Arc
Mad Monkeys
Wall of Stone
Rainbow Pattern
Scorching Ray

These are spells that I may not necessarily have, but would be better if the DC or Caster Level is higher.

Ooh... Wall of Stone... Good one.

My sorcerer is carrying 3 scrolls of Daylight ever since we let a vampire escape. Well... Actually... we escaped from it. Damn thing was tougher than we thought... -.-'

I once bought two scrolls of Control Weather before departing on a ship. And another one of Vortex, just in case... It was rather useful when we found ourselves chased by pirates.

A couple scrolls (or a wand) of mass darkvision could be useful if one expects to go underground anytime soon.

Sczarni

Eh for Darkvision I get the Ebon Wayfinder. Gives you Darkvision AND you get 2 places to put in some nice ion stones.

True... But it's somewhat expensive, and does not apply to the whole party.

Scrolls of Web, or even wands, can do wonders for a quick escape. I'd say Freedom of Movement too, but most casters with access to that spell will have it anyway.
