However, something of note (and you may know this), if enemies have too hard a time and you aren't doing a lot of damage to them, they may ignore you to take on another target that does more damage, but is easier to hit.

This, but instead of a level dip into Oracle (which you can still do) I would take a level dip into Holy Vindicator. Early game the AC from the oracle could be better but it will be outpaced by Vindicator's shield. On top of the insane AC/saves/healing you can do, you bring group buffs in the form of auras
