Dragons in the Adventure Paths

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

I am in the process of creating a world.
I'll be running AP's starting all the way back at Shackled City.

I would like a list of dragons and their age categories in the PF AP's.

I want to be able to introduce these dragons earlier. For example, let's say there's a very old dragon in Rise of the Runelords. I'd like to have that dragon to appear (perhaps as an adult) with Hookface in SCAP during Foundation of Flame. That dragon doesn't like the look of things and flies off. Then, after AoW, and ST, when we're running RotR, that dragon returns. Even though the characters will be totally different, the players will be the same and I believe they'd like it.

Thanks in advance.

You do realize that will take years and years, right?

First, since spoilers will abound, I'll just say: Don't look within the spoiler block if you're playing in any of Paizo's APs :)

Dragons in APs (Rise of the Runelords (incl. AE) -> Legacy of Fire):

- Rise of the Runelords, Book 4 (Fortress of the Stone Giants), page 12: Longtooth (juvenile red dragon)
- Rise of the Runelords, Book 4 (Fortress of the Stone Giants), page 38: Econtredor (young red dragon)
- Rise of the Runelords, Book 4 (Fortress of the Stone Giants), page 38: Sulaminga (young red dragon)
- Rise of the Runelords, Book 5 (Sins of the Saviors), page 18: Arkrhyst(old white dragon)
- Rise of the Runelords, Book 6 (Spires of Xin-Shalast), page 43: Ghlorofaex (elite mature adult blue dragon)

- Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition, page 190: Longtooth (juvenile red dragon)
- Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition, page 219: Econtredor (young red dragon)
- Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition, page 219: Sulaminga (young red dragon)
- Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition, page 250: Arkrhyst (ancient white dragon)
- Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition, page 338: Ghlorofaex (very old blue dragon)
- Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition, page 365: (unnamed) (adult blue dragon)

- Curse of the Crimson Throne, Book 5 (Skeletons of Scarwall), page 18/35: Belshallam (adult umbral dragon)
- Curse of the Crimson Throne, Book 6 (Crown of Fangs), page 15: Zarmangarof (adult black dragon)
- Curse of the Crimson Throne, Book 6 (Crown of Fangs), page 59: Kazavon (great wyrm blue dragon) [only if the PC's fail]

- Second Darkness, Book 3 (The Armageddon Echo), page 43: Razorhorn (juvenile green dragon)

- Legacy of Fire, Book 4 (The End of Eternity), page 33: Venema Shodair (mature adult brass dragon wyrmskull) [in the Kakishon demiplane]

Hm. That took longer than expected. I'm going to take a break before proceeding to the remaining APs :)

Note: Only true dragons are included (not pseudodragons, drakes, linnorms, wyverns, etc).

Dragons in APs (Council of Thieves -> Skull & Shackles:

- Council of Thieves: none

- Kingmaker, Book 6 (Sound of a Thousand Screams), page 34: Ilthuliak (wyrm black dragon) [in the First World]

- Serpent's Skull: none

- Carrion Crown, Book 6 (Shadows of Gallowspire), page 49: Marrowgarth (adult red dragon ravener)
- Carrion Crown, Book 6 (Shadows of Gallowspire), page 66: Sicnavier V (great wyrm umbral dragon) [continuing the campaign]

- Jade Regent, Book 3 (The Hungry Storm), page 60: Vegsundvaag (young adult white dragon)
- Jade Regent, Book 6 (The Empty Throne), page 43: Teikono (adult sovereign dragon)

- Skull & Shackles, Book 6 (From Hell's Heart), page 27: Brinebones (unique old bronze dragon bloody electric skeleton)

I don't have any of the Shattered Star issues yet, so I can't say if there are dragons within them.

I apologize if I missed any.

Thank you, Are!

Actually, I think that it'll take so much time that it would more accurately be measured in decades rather than years. But a great deal of the fun for me as a DM is laying down those kind of Babylon 5 three years later Vir in B&W smiling up at Mr. Morden type of ah-hah's! and foreshadows. Even if I never actually get to run it, I have fun planning it.

Are, thank you very much. Even if you've missed any, you've given me a great deal to work with. Thank you. My players, who'll never know you, thank you, too.

Great Job, Are! Seems like after RotRL Paizo used less dragons.

I always try to put a dragon in AP chapters that I write. There was a green dragon in my manuscript for War of the River Kings, but it got cut, alas.
