I've been looking over the WHW archetype and reading some posts on these forums, but I'm not exactly clear on these. I'm thinking about making her for PFS, so everything must be RAW.
1) I have heard there is errata for the WHW, specifically one changing it's free actions to swift actions. However, I cannot find it. Can someone point me to this?
2) Does the WHW use STR or INT for attack rolls with her hair?
3) Can the WHW simply choose to grapple normally with her hair without the attack roll? If so, does she use INT or STR for the attempt?
Thanks!

1.) I don't believe that faq or errata was ever created. There was/is a 'recommendation' by JJ, but that is not RAW, simply his opinion.
2.) Str for the hit roll, int goes to damage. (as the ability describes)
3.) No, it says you can grapple as part of the attack action. It's part of the natural attack. It would use your int for that free grapple. (as the ability describes)

1) According to the SRD, there has been no errata regarding this change. This means that the RAW stands and the grapple attempt is a free action.
2) Strength I fear. Since the power doesn't specify otherwise. If I was GM'ing this, I would agree that INT was probably the intent and rule it as such, but RAW is king in PFS.
3) RAW says "no" here too. This is a special attack type, if it doesn't say she can just make a grapple, the GM does not have to allow it. Again, this is not how I would run it, but I don't play PFS.
I fear that this entry is far too vague, my friend. I would not try to bring this into a PFS game at all. Also, with a witch's BAB and strength, this would be a very ineffective ability. Sorry. That is my two copper at least.

Also, note the other differences between the WHW ability and the Prehensile Hair hex: The WHW hair is specific about what it can do: Use as a weapon in these specific ways, as opposed to a limb with Str = Int. You can't manipulate objects with it. You probably can't use eyebrows or facial hair.
I assume none of that is intended and the WHW ability really should read "Works as the prehensile hair hex, except for the following differences:"
BTW, while I was looking at the WHW, I also noticed something weird in the Rogue Talents:
At 12th level and above a restricted list of rogue talents to choose from is given. At 10th she can take any rogue talent? I guess it's possible, but it seems very weird.

@Winterwalker: Where is the recommendation by James Jacobs? WHW is one of my favorite Archetypes & I would like to see what he recommends.
Here you go: Source
The specific quote is as Follows, and is not RAW:
"The white hair ability only gives you attacks. And it should be noted... these attacks should be SWIFT actions, not free actions; that's an error in the text. (The main difference being you can only make one swift action in any round.) As you gain levels, you can add additional effects of your choice (constrict, trip, pull, or strangle) but only one per round. "

From that same discussion, following the above quote:
The grab part of the white hair functions like the monster ability; it doesn't take an action at all and is a part of the main attack.
So you can grapple with any attack, then try one of the later effects as a swift action. Constrict requires you to be grappling, as does Strangle which doesn't even take a free action. Pull and Trip only require successful strikes, so they can be used whether or not you successfully grapple.
He also does say it only gives attacks, so apparently the lack of manipulation is intentional. Though you can grapple or pull objects, but you can't do anything else to them.

Don't use JJ's opinion as RAW however, those are his opinions.

Incorrect.
The actually errata post stating these changes are here
While I can't speak for the Synthesist at the moment, we have come up with some errata for the White-Haired Witch. On page 23 of the Dragon Empires Gazetteer, in the White-Haired Witch archetype, in the Constrict, Trip, and Pull paragraphs, change "free action" to "swift action".
This is a horrible way to play a witch and I stand by my belief this should have been a monk archetype instead.

nice, wasn't aware of that post. Though my advice for not using JJ's opinions as RAW, as they are his opinions, is still not 'incorrect.'

Well, it's nice to have an official answer to this at least. Also note that the grapple is not changed, so that still works like the monster "Grab" ability, as a free action after an attack, so that's nice at least.
