Holy vindicator what counts as being struck?

Rules Questions

So I really like the holy vindicator's ability to increase his shields AC by so much, but I'm wondering if being caught in a sod spell counts as being struck in combat. What about being touched by a touch attack spell or ability? Does it disappear whenever you take damage, could somebody please clarify what does and does not count?

I'm not speaking for the author (Jason Nelson, I think?), but to me, struck in combat means hit. A targeted spell (like Phantasmal Killer) doesn't count, because there was no striking, it just happens.

Being hit with a sword, or a touch attack, or an arrow, or a ray, or a ranged touch attack should all count, as they are all attack rolls opposed by your AC.

Just my opinion, though.

To me (I planned to play a HV at one point) it would be anything that goes against your AC as that what the bonus applies to.

So if we are reading this right, you burn a channel to get an AC bonus against a single hit?

That was the way I read it yes.

Yep. It might still last for many attacks, though. It actually has to hit to remove the bonus. With lots of defense, the shield can stay up a good long time. Don't forget to refresh it before you go to sleep if you have a channel left. (24 hour duration!)
