Yeah.

Spoiler:
Also hezrou's have it at CL 13. So any level 7-8s are going to be hit by that 1d10 paralysis save or suck effect.

Ew, a level 7 spell on a 10 HD creature with CL 13 seems gross to me.

Silver Crusade 2/5

Spoiler:
They are only CR 11, also. They could show up in unexpected places.

Silver Crusade 2/5 *

If the level 7 pregens had a couple thousand gp "flex money" for additional consumables, they'd get a lot better. Most pregens just flat out lose to flying, ranged opponents.

Dark Archive 5/5 *

If hezrou has poor diction then pregen just misses the -5 lvl dif effect. But still lvl 7 pregens in tier 7-8 will have a dif time and will be a livability in tier 10-11 in any scenario

Briefly jumping back into this. I do agree that pregens playing in tier 10-11 are going to be in for a rough time. I would certainly recommend someone play at a lower level table if one was available, but I wouldn't turn someone away if their other option was not playing.

As for the talk of Glabrezus and Hezrou, I can only think of one scenario that has a Glabrezu (not counting the one in a season five 3-7 scenario that exists in the scenario as a plot device) and two Hezrou in PFS play, not counting the specials from season five and six. That's three (that I know of) in seven seasons of PFS. There are certainly some other tough fights in PFS, I won't argue that, and I would say that a pregen playing up in 7-11 should be a last resort.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

There's also at least one other creature that can cast blasphemy in PFS that lies

Spoiler:
[i]Below the Silver Tarn[/i.]

Grand Lodge 4/5

There is a reason my Life Oracle took Remove Paralysis.

Too many stiffs in the party?

Flutters current GROUP HUG! List:

Air Bubble
Freedom of movement (One is kept on a character, one held in reserve)
Collar of obedience on a fighter that didn't buy the cloak
Resist whatever element the sorcerer throws
Feather step on the melee
Mage armor on the pets that didn't bring their cloak

Harsk actually did a good job for us during a high (6-7) tier run of Decline of Glory. Despite preferring archery, he can take punishment like a proper dwarf tank with an axe to grind. And his Heal and Survival skills were also useful.

Spoiler:
He survived about four rounds of super-difficult-terrain misery during the fight with the shambling mound, before anyone else got within fighting range of it. He was totally unfazed by all the poison and disease going around as well.

When we had to go delve beneath those black waters, it came in rather handy. Thankfully, my mistress has a long reach with her blessings.

It just occurred to me that we probably don't need this thread Stickied at the top of the Forum anymore.

The original post was 4 years ago, answered a question that at the time was an unknown, and the newest Guide covers Pregen options fairly well.

Plus, if someone in the future ever asks this question again, the thread can still be linked to.

Anyone have a strong opinion otherwise?

To be honest, I'd forgotten this thread existed, and your posting to it made me wonder if the Leadership had posted an update on pregen situations for Season Eight to it.

So it may be a thing that can fade somewhat to the background?

Wow. That was quick.

*gives the old thread one final salute*
