Wheeee. Just got a high damage shotgun. Only one shot before reloading, decent reload speed. Anarchy triggers off kills and reloads, and I rank up anarchy with this thing like crazy! :D
I once found a Lvl 50 Torgue shotgun that did something like 1,234 x 20, consumed 4 ammo per shot, but only had 3 in the clip. Lost it in a duel to a friend though... that thing was a blast (literally) to run around with while I had it.

For Anarchy, I'm a big fan of the Tediore shotguns due to their increased reload speed and the bonus damage with, roughly, every shot.

Just finished the Scarlett DLC, apparently you must play it in True Vault Hunter difficulty for it to scale properly in difficulty and drops. With a Sniper Rifle, I was one shotting most mobs, bosses were down in seconds (last boss took longer), and a lot of drops were low powered (many were level 15 even) with my level 33-35 Mechnomancer. I figured it would scale normally on Normal.
They should have told me this in game before I played through the first DLC. I'll ramp it up for Torgue's.
A fun expansion though, on par with the rest of the game.
Tels
Sunderstone, it may be possible that you entered the Scarlett DLC at level 15 which then locks the scale in at level 15 enemies. I just started the DLC with my 35 Axton on Normal and all the guys are level 30 (the level cap for Normal I think).
I played through it first on my Lvl 50 Siren, and I have to tell you, don't do it. My friends and I stopped fighting for a minute and were like "Why are we clearing it all out?" and then just rushed past all the enemies because they no longer did anything for us except consumed valuable ammo.
Sunderstone
I didn't buy the DLC till I was done with the game at lvl 33. I just bought the season pass. Some of the white drops were lvl 15 guns, all enemies were one shots at lvl 30.
I just started Torgue's yesterday at lvl 35 on True Vault Hunter difficulty. It's properly scaled. My only gripe is that I can't get to sanctuary to cash in on Eridium as the new difficulty resets the main game to the beginning, and the vendor in Oasis was telling me he wouldn't sell to me unless I killed a Seraph. Not sure what that's all about.

Well if anyone wants to do mp on BL2 look for me on Steam as DungeonDweller.
That said, I LOVE the Commando grenade/rocket buff path.
50% of the time I'm a Dahl fanboy with burst fire and high accuracy sniper/smgs.
Then when things get hairy? TORGUE BABY! BOOM! BLOW IT ALL UP!

Not that unbelievable really. I know a couple of guys who got various legendary weapons on their first time through. One guy had a level 11ish Infinity that he was still using at 39 before he got new version.

Could have been better! Could have gotten it on my second play-through, instead. :) Über-rare level 8 pistols are kinda pointless, and I don't hate my life enough to start grinding for it on TVHM.
500 tries. Sheesh. I salute your patience, sir.

I am still liking the game, but the siren has lost all its fun. Got the Bee and 3 infinities at 50 now and a good sniper rifle. Everything goes down rather quickly. Really like Zero, but optimizing for Melee is fun till you get to flying opponents and bosses where you can't melee them, then you are useless...
Any tips for my melee zero guys?
Thanks
-Hexen
JrK
For melee Zero I recommend sticking to a few melee skills that will work most of the time (Execution is the most important one) but not relying on it. A good mix is to pick a few gun skills from Cunning.
Since all the melee skills multiply each other the most important ones are Counter Strike, Execution and Killing Blow. Strategy is to shoot guys until Deception activates, then run behind someone, wait till the timer runs low, and backstab one. Run away if it does not kill.

Finally picked the second game up last week. Totally in love with it so far.
Currently playing Maya. After playing Lilith super-aggresively* in the first game, had to adjust to fighting more carefully here but that's probably for the best considering how much easier it is to get blindsided by bad news now. Torn between trying Salvador or Gaige next.
*Phasewalk and the Double Anarchy SMGs really spoiled me. Mordecai was my first "main" but Lilith was my go-to character for just going nuts.
I missed hearing Scooter, Dr. Zed, and Marcus through the vending machines more than I explected I would.
Gotta admit, they've managed to craft a perfectly funny and hateful lead villain here.
Also, <3 this soundtrack.
Rynjin
I still have yet to reach 50.
BL2 just isn't bringing me back the same way BL1 did. I don't really like most of the new characters except Axton and Gaige. The other guys' action skills just don't do it for me, unfortunately.
Also, the guns...FEEL weird in BL2. I dunno what it is with them but they feel crunchy, for lack of a better word. That and they removed my favorite manufacturer (S&S) kinda sucks a bit of the enjoyment out of the loot as well. =/
And the whole thing with Bloodwing STILL pisses me off.
Zhangar
Gaige and her anarchy tree is a lot of fun. Anarchy not only lets you do ludicrous damage, it also ramps up Deathtrap's damage as well.
Salvador's neat. I played him going up the tank tree up to level 43 or so; then I got a nice mod and split my point between the two other trees (whose names I am blanking on at the moment). So now my Salvador while gunzerking... (1) throws two grenades at once; (2) gets extensions to the duration every time he kills something - I've kept it going for over two minutes before; (3) can continue gunzerking, or start it, while downed; (4) gets an attack power buff whenever gunzerking actually ends; (5) a whole pile more of stuff that I don't remember. It's pretty crazy.
Handsome Jack is a fantastic villain; the DLC adversaries can't really match him, but most villains in most games ever can't match Handsome Jack.

In response to the OP? Definitely MEH.
But then I'm nearly 39 years old and dont really care for first person shooters.
The art is meh, the humor is meh, the voice acting is meh.. Just not my thing I guess.
I can definitely see why you'd be drawn to a Borderlands 2 discussion. :p
Aaanyway. I've played the new Psychic character all evening and had a hilarious time setting myself on fire. :)

Over all I liked Borderlands 2, not my favorite game by a long shot, but I picked up when it was at half price over on Steam, and as a $30 game I wasn't disappointed. I had picked up the original borderlands plus all the DLC for $25 last year and was quite pleased with that. From playing the first I knew what Borderlands 2 would be like.
I don't think I'm in their target audience, but I got enough laughs out of it recommend it, and someone that's really into FPS would probably love this sort of game more.
I have to say that Jack is a great villain, someone that you really love to hate, and although I was really thinking that he was going to get old fast (what with the over the top taunting and boasting in the opening act) I must say that he really grew on me and by the end of the game I couldn't help but hate him on a whole other level. The last Villain that grew on me that much was GLaDOS, and while I don't think he's quite at the evil AI's level of villainy, I do think he's achieved a rare level in computer games. He's a villain that you hate, but you want to hear his dialogue, and you can't help but smile with pride as he comes to hate you on the same level that you hate him.

Wow, I feel terrible about the Perfectly Peaceful mission now. ;_;
One thing that's hurting me right now is the smaller inventory. I just maxed out my slots pre-DLC and I'm still having trouble with my packrat tendencies in games like this.
I keep selling my Torgues as soon as I pick them up though. I'm sure they have their niche, but they're just too slow for my tastes.
Vehicular combat feels much more satisfying now, I think. Sure ramming things is less powerful now, but there's something just so right about sending a giant bug monster flying rather than having it auto-die from getting love-tapped by your buggy moving at 3 mpg.

This sums up my thoughts on Jack as well. His immature and, well, stupid taunting in the beginning of the game is something I'd usually grow very tired of, really fast. But the whole thing just comes together in a way that works.

I probably wouldnt have showed up in here if the thread were titled 'Borderlands 2: I love it and if you do too join me in the thread so we can jointly spew our multifaceted love of it...
Turns out 'meh' is even in the title of the thread... I also probably wouldnt have posted if I didnt have a very specific feeling about borderlands 2... But I very specifically feel meh about it, having specifically checked it out on the recomendation of one of my buddies at the gaming table...
The fact that it's a steam game probably moves it to a meh minus...
I wont say i've been drawn to the conversation per se... I'm drawn to posting when a thread asks me how I feel, particularly when I have a strong feeling, and that strong feeling is listed in the options on the thread title ^_^
That strong feeling happens to be 'strongly meh'... what can I say.

I love that Borderlands 2 got a little darker, while still keeping it, more-or-less, light-hearted. Missions like Perfectly Peaceful, Minecart Mischief of Where Angels Fear to Tread really are wonderful additions to the game.
Since you've done Perfectly Peaceful, have you found the Easter Egg at the end of the rail track where the cart for Minecract Mischief is? If not, make sure to explore the rocks around that area.
By the way, how'd you feel about the outcome of the A Train to Catch mission (and installing the power core)?
Torgue weapons really do have a niche. That niche happens to be doing a LOT of damage in as few shots as possible. To that end, Torgue shotguns do it best. If you can find yourself a good one (to see good results, find one that consumes 2 or 3 ammo per shot), then just get close to someone, pull the trigger, and watch the red mist fly. Torgue also makes OK assault rifles, but only at close - medium range. Anything farther and the spread is just too much.
For your packrat tendencies, one thing I suggest is cloning your character. I play on the Xbox, so I can just copy my characters over to a flash drive, then I sell all their inventory, and use them as mules. Keep only the gear you will use a lot in your bank and the gear you're guaranteed to use in your inventory. For instance, I keep only the 4 guns I use all the time in my weapon slots, and a few I may need (such as different elemental SMGs) and I switch between my Anshin Shield (high capacity + Bonus health) and the Bee shield (for damage against bosses/badasses). Other than that, my inventory remains mostly empty.
My only problem with vehicular combat is that there is a challenge to run creatures over with a car, yet the cars do such small amounts of damage it's extremely difficult to actually kill creatures.

That's unfortunate, but the game isn't for everyone. I know some people who played the original and hated the sequel, and I know people who hated the original but loved the sequel.
I personally love both games. There are some things I dislike about it (mainly the drop rates), but over-all I think it's a great game.

I certainly wasn't trying to say that people can't make posts on any borderlands 2 related topic they like.
