Quick question (and apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but my initial search did not clarify):
Can a 1st or 2nd level PFS character spend 2 PP (assuming s/he has it to spend) on a "free purchase up to 750 gp" (as listed Table 5-4 in the Guide) such as a 1st level wand, even if his/her Fame is insufficient to purchase such an item with gp based on Table 5-3 in the Guide? Are "purchasing" and "free purchase" two separate things in terms of who is eligible?
Thanks!

I´m sorry David, but I not agree.
In table 5-4 of GPSOP you read “Free purchase up to 750 gp” OK, you don´t have to spend any gp, and you will get 0 gp if you want to sell it, but It´s still a purchase, so you have to follow the purchase rules.
If you can´t purchase an item via gp, you can´t purchase an item via PP. It´s the same, only change the form of payment.

This has been clarified by the campaign leadership before. You can obtain any item costing up to 750 gp, as long as it is from a legal source. This does allow you to get around the fame restriction.

Oy - does this mean you're saying Painlord is wrong?

He's actually saying what painlord is saying just saying it differently.

Other good things to get: a masterwork composite longbow, a wand of magic missile, a wand of mage armour, a potion of fly, and a scroll with two of the same third level spell on it.
Edit the longbow to Masterwork darkwood composite longbow up to Str +3 (Cost: 730 gp, the closest you can come to 750 for a bow)
Add:
Wand of Infernal Healing (out of combat healing, mainly, has drawbacks, Paladins, for example, won't sit still for it)
Wand of Endure Elements (How many scenarios happen in deserts or in the frozen lands?)
Dragonhide breastplate (if you play a Druid, you know you want it)
Note that you could spend 1 PP to buy a scroll with 6 copies of a first level spells on it (Comprehend Languages, for example), or a single copy of a second level spell.
2 PP gives a lot more flexibility, of course, especially if you are willing to not use for something exactly 750 gp in value...

OK, I think I understand the confusion.
In the text above, before the sentence "You can obtain any item ..." add the following text "By spending 2 PP," to the beginning of that sentence.
It should read:
"By spending 2 PP, you [may] obtain any item costing up to 750 gp ..."
CanisDirus is not saying you may purchase any item up to 750 gp before you have enough Fame to do so. You must have 5 Fame before you may purchase, with gp, any item costing up to 500 gp that is not "always available". Spending PP is akin to "cashing in a favor".
In other words, you may not purchase, with gp, anything that is not "always available" until you have earned 5 Fame. And then, only items that cost 500 gp or less. The next purchase point is 9 Fame for more expensive items.

Oh, I'm wrong about a *lot* of stuff, but on this, I'm mostly, somewhat, kind of, probably sure that what I might have said, while taken out of context, could have accidentally contained some probable elements of what might have been truth to it.
And I 53% stand by that statement.

Really? Please, can someone show me where that clarification is?
I don´t have in mind start an argument, only change my criteria if I ´m wrong.

The answer is you can use 2 pa to get a wand regardless of your fame level.

Ok. Nothing more to say. Thanks you.
