2 people marked this as a favorite.

For all of you that love the Midgard setting from Kobold Press and have an iPad, get over to the Apple App Store now and grab the Midgard Atlas for iPad - a very well-spent $3.99 for this gamer!
Midgard Atlas for iPad

Congratulations for blowing away my expectations for a fantasy world atlas! This is how it was meant to be. I can easily pan and zoom anywhere in the world (far easier than PDFs of other settings) and it also includes hotlinks to detailed city maps for each city with a detailed map. A simple, elegant solution to accessing maps and presumably to updating them too as the world continues to develop.

If you're still new to Midgard this is a just a little appetizer for the Midgard Campaign Setting entree coming next month which will give you a ton of the stories contained within those beautiful maps.

The Exchange Kobold Press

Thank you for that review!

I'm very proud of this Atlas, and it will only get better over time.

I wish I had an actual iPad instead of an iPad mini.

I too wish Paizo would make something like this for Golarion. Props to Kobald Quarterly, that is one slick looking map.

The best part of this app is when, in the future, I have the Great Old Ones that wander the Western Wastes wipe out the Principalities or the elven kingdom of the Arbonesse, we can photoshop big gray smears all over those parts of the map to represent smoke and ruins, upload the update, and *poof* -everyone's Midgard map will be up-to-date!

*Mwa ha. Mwa ha ha. Mwahahahahahahaha!*

The Exchange Kobold Press

Brandon, I think your mustache is twirling so fast that it might fly right off.

Also, I like this plan.

Lol! That would be awesome!!!

Instead of animate clouds? Animate smoke billowing ever-forth from the new wastes, no longer confined to just the west.

*Yeeeeesssssssss.*

Any plans for an Android version?

The Exchange Kobold Press

No plans for Android, mostly because I have no Android developer. If you know one, send them my way.

Liberty's Edge

Oh wow, beautiful!
I had to buy it, even if I don't use Midgard.
Nicely done!

Now, Paizo has to show us the same for Golarion! :)

The Exchange Kobold Press

I can only hope we get something that nice for Golarion.

And thanks for the kind words, Dryder! A lot of work went into just making it beautiful.

Looks great; id love it if there were further expansions that drilled down even further.

The Exchange Kobold Press

Funny you should mention that!

I'm looking at some possible expansions now, both more city maps and details within the city. I expect to have more details in October.

What might you like to see? A wish list is always welcome.

I love this app! It is what made me decide to get the campaign setting.

That said, my OCD is making me drive my head into the wall. The city of Melana does not seem to exist on the map. ;) My guess is it is in the center of that area, where the roads meet...

The Exchange Kobold Press

Melana is there, at the top of the Seven Cities, south of Zobeck.

FWIW, one of the upgrades in the planning stage is making the map text searchable. Look for that later this year or early next.

I see the nation. I just can't find the capital city. I am probably just missing it, which would be why I am banging my head into the nearest wall. Lol

Three years on...is there ever going to be an android version?

The Exchange Contributor; Publisher, Kobold Press; RPG Superstar Judge

Sadly, no. The developer is not interested in creating one, and the costs involved don't really pencil out.

However, a PDF version of the core map should soon be available.

Scarab Sages

That's good news. Midgard has become my favourite setting by a long shot.
