I'm on a quest for one replacement character for an active Rise of the Runelords campaign.
The adventure is just beginning so you'll be getting in while the party is still bonding.
Good role play and being a team player are of highest importance.
NOTE: Each member of this group posts on average once a day about six days a week. It’s not uncommon for an occasional second daily post or a comment in the discussion thread. Please be sure you are comfortable
I'm specifically looking for someone to take up the mantle of a solid melee warrior.
Preferably a fighter, but I'm open to all options. Traveling adventurer, mercenary, militia, man-at-arms, even a bodyguard for one of the towns NPC’s, that sort of thing.
Character guidelines:
20 point buy
1st Level
Average Gold
3 Traits (1 Campaign)
Core races and class's are preferred.
Core and APG mostly.
Most Golarion books (___ of Golarion, Adventurer's Armory, Inner Sea Guide, etc))
Other material may be considered on an individual basis.
Getting Started:
The anniversary edition RotRL players guide has a lot of good hooks and traits to bond the party members to Sandpoint and perhaps each other. Please incorporate one of these or create your own as you see fit.
What I like to see:
A character that feels alive, with a short backstory and a physical description. Characters should have a good balance between enough info to guide the beginning of the story, and general enough to develop and evolve along the way.
A reason for being in Sandpoint - presumably related to the Swallowtail festival, but not necessarily! (Chance, Local, Religious Leanings, etc.)
I’m looking for players who enjoy cinematic combats and creating interesting descriptions and dialogue.
On PbP specific rules. I generally keep close to the core rules on gameplay. Some items I find speed up a PbP game, like having the GM roll initiative and create and average for the Pc’s and creatures can save an entire day (or more) of posting.
Here a link to the game. Please check that the style and speed of the posts fit into your gaming style. It will also give you a good idea for the other characters playing in the game.

Savarend Whiteroot |

Here is my submission to your call, GM Iron-Dice.
Savarend Whiteroot
LG Male Dwarf
Paladin (Stonelord) 1
Edit: If you are unfamiliar with the Stonelord archetype, it is a Dwarven racial archetype from the Advanced Race Guide. It shifts all of a paladin's supernatural/healing abilities into serious tanking power. Link
Savarend's family traces its lineage to the Land of the Linnorm Kings, home of the reclusive and brutal northern folk. His forefathers found ready work as mercenaries, campaigning during the harsh winters and returning in the spring with bounties for their family. This established a tradition of sorts, with each passing generation choosing whether to take up the mantle of 'coin-sword.'
Savarend initially chose a different route, gaining an apprenticeship under the local cleric of Torag. Filled with piety, yet quickly finding the monastic lifestyle to lack stimulation, Savarend swore fealty to the Godsmith as a paladin to take his faith to the world outside as a holy warrior. After several years of successful service with a mercenary company, he struck out on his own as an independent operator. He recently hired on with a merchant heading toward Sandpoint with a shipment of books and furniture bound from Magnimar.
Hair: Red
Eyes: Blue
Height: 5'1"
Weight: 180lb
You see a well-groomed dwarf man with fire-red hair shaved into a war stripe. His beard is loosely braided and reaches to his collar line. His eyes are a deep blue, with small flecks of silver near the iris. His skin is fair and pale, with small freckles on his nose, high cheek bones, and a strong jaw. He is dressed in scale mail armor, with a rust-brown cloak. He holds a great hammer, nearly as tall as himself. You also notice wicked spikes on his gauntlets and several chakram gathered at his belt. He is tall for a dwarf, with a solid frame and straight posture.
Savarend leads personal interactions with a no-nonsense, business-like attitude that comes from several years of mercenary work. He works hard to overcome his negative attitude to see the good in people, but has been disappointed enough in life to not expect much from those around him. He is loyal and courageous to those who have his friendship - while terrible and vindictive to those who attack or betray him.

Mishap "Hap" Laronal |

This is Elspeth Luren, a half-elf Urban Barbarian I made for a homebrew PbP I failed to get into. I've become rather enamored with the character, however. She's already strongly tied to Varisia so I'd only need to change a couple things in her back story. I am thinking of going with Giant Hunter as her campaign trait and motivation for coming to Varisia, as that's just the sort of thing to spur her towards adventure. Her background has a lot of unanswered questions in it for her and, if you're interested, I can send you a few paragraphs explaining that history.
Everything else (fluff and crunch) is on this alias profile. She was built on 15 points, and with the higher point buy in your game I would likely increase her Charisma (for Spirit Totem) and Strength.
Thank you for your consideration!

Grigore the Grim |

Here's a fighter I made for a RotRL game here. Very shortly after the game started the DM disappeared and hasn't been back since. It's 25 point buy so I'd have to tweak it slightly, but background and everything are included in the profile.
He used to be a pit fighter in Riddleport and has "retired" to the militia in Sandpoint, also acting in some local plays on the side.

This is Adrien, though an old concept, I've completely revamped him to fit your guidelines. The one thing that should quickly catch your attention is that he's Aasimar, but that is completely explained and justified in his backstory, so let me know what you think.
Due to prices of armor in CR and APG, I've selected some armor from UC. If that's not okay, I can select something standard, though his AC will suffer for it.
His backstory is pretty long, but if you have the time I think it's a good read.
As for his ability, he is a combat focused fighter who specializes in defense. Depending on the dynamic of the party and his experiences, he can level to become a superior tank, or a superior damage dealer. Regardless, he will be able to accomplish both tasks fairly well.
Additionally, as a very important part of his personality and backstory (where optimization meets flavor), he is a trained diplomat. He could easily serve as the party face, or simply be used in social situations to accomplish tasks.

Fantastic group of characters and players listed above.
I think every one would fit well into the game I'm running.
I'll have a chance to look more closely at everyone's detail tonight or tomorrow and decide from there. I may end up having to do eeny-meeeny-miny-mo or a random roll for the final pick.

GM Iron-Dice |

After a lot of going back and forth, I find the dwarf paladin mercenary to be an interesting fit.
So I would like to offer the spot to Savarend Whiteroot. If Whiteroot is still interested please make an acceptance post in discussion tread for the game. I'll get with you there for details on joining the action.
Thanks everyone!
I hope another GM picks up your characters soon!
