I was looking into the Prestige Classes and wondered "Can an Arcane Archer use a Crossbow and use its class abilities with it?" The only thing I notice, though, is the word Arrow is used, not Bolt. I understand that the GM could simply say "Whatever", but I want to know in case I do something similar in PFS.
On the subject of Arrows/Bolts, if a Rogue or Ninja fire a ranged attack at someone in the Bedeviling Aura of the Phantasm Illiusionist spell school, do they gain Sneak Attack bonus?

For reference.
Bedeviling Aura (Su): At 8th level, you can emit a 30-foot aura that bedevils your enemies with phantasmal assailants. Enemies within this aura move at half speed, are unable to take attacks of opportunity, and are considered to be flanked. This is a mind-affecting effect. You can use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to your wizard level. These rounds do not need to be consecutive.
You can't flank with a ranged weapon under normal curcumstances. If you want sneak at range you have to snipe. I think there is a feat that lets you flank with a ranged weapon, but I'm not sure what it is.

Any of the abilities that specifically say arrow will only work with arrows, not bolts.

If the target is flat-footed or otherwise denied dex to AC, yes. If not, no.
