This is something I am fairly excited about, it seems like a really fun and great spellcaster PrC. The entry requirements are a bit odd... you could get in with either divine or arcane spellcasting. I think it would be easier to get in with a Cleric 5, though I think in the long run, a wizard 5 would be more optimal.
Thanks everyone!

Yes, but the Signifier Mask, Arcane Armor Expertise, and Signifier Armor are all geared towards making life easier on arcane spellcasters. The only benefit for divine casters is Catechesis... Which requires Warrior Priest feat from UM to use.
Magus or Bard would work, but it would take a long time to get third level spells, and your other class abilities would be halted.
I still feel that in the long run, wizard would be best... but you are right, its definitely harder to get in with.

Wizard 5 needs 2 armor feats and arcane armor training so a human wizard will only have his human feat and his lvl 5 bonus feat too spend so you'd be far better off approaching it like you would eldrich knight only needing armor in place of martial weapons.
So 1 level of Cleric, Cavalier, Druid, Fighter, Inquisitor, Oracle, Paladin, Ranger, or Sohei Monk and 5 Wizard would probably be better.

If i read it right, Signifier levels stack to figure mystery/domain/inquisition powers, as long as you have the Warrior Priest feat from Ultimate Magic... a feat tax, as far as I can tell.
For an arcane caster, your levels stack to figure your Arcane Bond, and you get decreasing spell failure, plus you can use Arcane Armor Training as an immediate action at level 8, thus freeing up your swift action for Arcane Strike or a quickened spell of some kind.
Plus the Assiduous Gaze ability (elucidation) sounds pretty cool for a mage hunter: you can discern every active spell, and the caster level therof. or SCrutiny, where you can determine whether the target has spell-like/spellcasting abilities, whether they are arcane or Divine (take that Razmirian Priests) and what is the highest level power/spell they can use.

Or do cleric, Oracle, inquisitor and get advancement on your domain/curse/mystery/inquisition and your medium armor pro. Think that would be better than fighter/whatever one?
You wouldn't even have to pick up warrior priest before entry.

I realise this is a necro'd thread, but it's probably worth mentioning that burning an Immediate action burns your Swift action for the coming turn, so the above statement is false. This class feature is essentially only good for using AAT when you cast off-turn with a readied action (so arcane-based Signifiers can counterspell well in armour, but that's about all it really helps with).
